Duchy Defibrillators

Another two public access defibrillators have now been added to the network of those we maintain, service and support.

1) Tolvaddon fire station
2) Hayle fire station

Both of these existing units have been checked, serviced and had new batteries installed. They are both in prime locations within the areas covered, due to the nature of the buildings usage

Thanks to Cornwall Fire and Rescue Service for asking us to assist with these units.

We have now added a further two existing public access defibrillator cabinets to those we help to support and maintain

1) Week St Mary parish hall - a new location for their existing cabinet and defib.

2) Week St Mary parish council office.

Three more public access defibrillators are now being supported by us 😍

1) a brand new defib and cabinet in the disused telephone box in St Mawgan. Thanks to the parish council for asking us to work with them again, and to South West Electrical Solutions Ltd for the usual help.

2) Booby's bay - an existing defibrillator that we now service and maintain. Located on the rear of the beach info sign

3) Constantine Beach Cafe - another existing defibrillator that we now service and maintain. Located on the front of the cafe. Constantine Beach Café

With our new premises at Ponsanooth, we now have a large open plan area upstairs that can host meetings, events and will allow us to hold in house first aid courses.

With a separate entrance, ample parking and a stair lift, this self contained space is now ready for use.

This morning while the rain came down, we headed into Bodmin and the Shire house to install our next monitored public access defibrillator cabinet

Purchased by Bodmin Town Council, this unit is now up and running and available 24/7 should the need arise.

As usual, a big thank you to the team from South West Electrical Solutions Ltd for helping out once again.

Yesterday we spent the day at the Sir Ben Ainslie sports centre at Truro School Community for the Cornwall Chamber of Commerce business fair.

A really good chance for us to chat to people about defibrillators and bleed control kits Bleed Control Cornwall

Next Wednesday (16th July) we shall be at the Sir Ben Ainslie sports centre in Truro for the Cornwall business fair

Hosted by the Cornwall Chamber of Commerce the event brings together a wide range of local businesses and is worth a visit if you're in the area

Time for an update - we are on the move!

For the last six years victoria business park has been our home, but now the time has come to relocate

From 1st July we can be found on the fiveways business units in Ponsanooth 🥰

And we are also welcoming Bleed Control Cornwall into the unit with us 😍

Last week we headed to the village hall in St Newlyn east with the team from for an emergency first aid at work course

Great venue for the day and an engaging set of learners made for a good course

A huge thank you to the local BBC team for coming along and supporting this. 270 public access bleed control kits across the county is a huge achievement and rightly should be celebrated and awareness given.

Very grateful to be part of a wonderful team that have made this happen. From local charity Front Line Emergency Equipment Trust who purchased and sanctioned the roll out, to Bleed Control Cornwall for supplying the kits for us to add to the cabinets. The support from MIKES Trust has also been very warmly received and delighted to be able to have a real insight into their work in helping to prevent knife crime.

Also to our team a big thank you for taking the kits and vinyls and adding to the cabinets. All while carrying out the regular maintenance and cleaning of the defibrillators and cabinets.

BBC News - Bleed control kit rollout plan for Cornish schools

A charity set up to remember a murdered man is helping rollout bleed kits in every Cornish school.

On Monday we were at the cabinet located on the Spar on Rock Lane in Bodmin to install the last of the 270 bleed control kits.

With had Front Line Emergency Equipment Trust & Bleed Control Cornwall with us as this was installed and the event was filmed by the BBC to celebrate the work of FLEET and how well Cornwall is now covered by bleed control kits. Also with us - Kevin Allen from MIKES Trust who have been doing great work

All being well this will be in the BBC tomorrow (Fri 23rd)

Last Thursday one of the team headed to Mortehoe on behalf of Mortehoe Parish Council to look at an issue with their defibrillator located at The Chichester Arms Mortehoe

The defib has been sorted, serviced and cleaned, ready for action once again. The cabinet was also cleaned.

A quick cuppa before heading across to Exeter for another service visit
