I discovered reiki knowing absolutely nothing about it, and when I was told what it was, was very skeptical. My friend was studying reiki and needed guinea pigs to practice on. She is a lawyer by profession, and is very practicle, intelligent, straight down the line type of person. So, I thought, if she believes there’s something in it, then why not give it a try, I’ve got nothing to lose! I had such a powerful reaction during my first reiki treatment, that I immediately decided I needed to learn more about it. At the time, and for some time previous I had been suffering from stress with various physical symptoms such as hair loss and insomnia, although at the time, I didn’t beleive that I had a problem, I had 2 young children and I was just ‘getting on with it’! The first and subsequent reiki treatments helped me so much that I took the reiki 1 course (to enable me to treat myself) and then reiki 2 (so that I could treatother people). So, in a relatively short space of time I have had my opinions changed hugely, and have had my mind opened to a whole new way of looking at life.
