It is via zoom in small group classes, so I can adapt the practice to each one of you.

Le Yoga renforce nos défenses immunitaires et nous aide à traverser les épreuves avec sérénité. Si vous souhaitez débuter ou approfondir votre pratique, n’hésitez pas à me contacter.

J’enseigne des styles de Yoga dynamique: Prana Vashya Yoga, Ashtanga et Vinyasa.

Bien évidemment en bon respect des "gestes barrières": hygiène, tapis désinfecté, espace aéré (jusque là rien d'exceptionnel), pas d’ajustement physique mais uniquement par la voix.

Et pour celles et ceux qui tout naturellement s’interrogent: oui cela est permis en période de confinement (confirmé par la préfecture).

Quelle joie de partager la Méthode Ilan Lev avec les artistes du Studio David Rozen à Paris, et de la faire découvrir lors de cette semaine Portes ouvertes.

Ahimsa - non-violence, is the first principle of the Yamas, the first limb of Yoga. Cultivating non-violent behavior and thoughts towards each being is the foundation of Yoga practice.

The true ignorance is ignoring his own ignorance…

Do you believe that our human thoughts and perceptions naturally correspond to the reality ?

The first step towards knowledge is recognizing our ignorance.

In the yoga tradition, ignorance is our natural state of mind, a state of deep confusion, that identifies ourselves to the physical world and our connection to it.

« Avidya, ignorance makes us take the self, which is joyful, pure and eternal, to be the non-self, which is painful, impure and temporary. » Patanjali Yoga sutras II,5

Ignorance is the first of the five kleshas, which are the obstacles to samadhi, the yogi realization. It is also the fertile ground of the four other kleshas which are: asmita, the sense of ego, raga, attachment, dvesha, aversion and abhiniveshas, clinging to life and fear of the death. Those five kleshas are deeply rooted in the human mind and are the causes of our sufferance.

The Yoga practice aims to eliminate ignorance… The whole Yoga, not just the physical postures, but also the breath practices, the ethical observances towards ourselves and towards the others, the meditation…

If ignorance is eliminated, all the other kleshas will disappear, and so the causes of sufferance.

Then only the Joy remains.

Shall we walk together on this long and joyful path of Yoga ?

How do you live your body ? In which kind of relationship are you with your body ?

Do you live it mainly as a tool to work with ?
As a way to explore the world ?
As a way to express yourself ?
A way to communicate with others ? To entertain them ? To make them laugh ? To seduce them ? To provoke them ? To heal them ? To share your sorrow ? To spread love around you ? To express your love to someone?

As a mean to defend yourself ? To challenge yourself ? To reproduce yourself ? To hide yourself ? To destruct yourself ? To fake ?
To find yourself again ?

As a source of pleasure ? As a source of knowledge ?
Is your body a partner for traveling inward, to a place that is beyond space ?

Is it mainly a painful or a joyful relationship ? Is there clarity or confusion in this relation ? Conflict or harmony ?

Can you live without it ?

Is your body mainly attracted by the external world ? Repulsed by it ?
Or maybe you don’t feel that this way, that there is an external world ? Maybe you live the world as the dilatation of your body, rather than his limitation ?

Maybe all of this is true at different times and at different stages of life ?

Let’s practice Yoga with joy, it makes us breath better !

It is not a duty, but a privilege to find a time for ourselves, detached from the attractions of the world.

Practice with joy doesn’t mean we shouldn’t put effort and determination in our practice. It is needed, if we wish to go beyond ourselves. This can be done with the joy to overcome some obstacles. Rather than willing to prove something to ourselves or to anyone else, let’s use our desire to go to a place we’ve never been before. Let’s not try to be perfect, but rather to feel great, to explore ourselves, to play with the same sense of full presence than a child has in his games. And if we fail to perform anything, we’ll go on loving ourselves the same, even better because we tried. So, we never fail.

I love to look at each Asana as a way to celebrate life from a different perspective.

Keep the joy alive ! And when we don’t feel joy, we always can imagine it. And it may come. The celebration must go on…

Urdhva Kukkutasana is one of the new postures I worked on with my dear teacher Vinay Kumar, during my last stay in Mysore. I needed a few sessions of practice and a few gentle falls back to be able to enter, stay and go out of this posture with ease. As most of the times, it was not a question of strength and flexibility, but mainly a question of trust and body image.

The process of Learning new postures is great in the way that it renews our own body image. We all have in our mind an image of our own body, of how it moves. This image is conceived according to our past experiences, and in return the way we move is patterned according to this body image. Those movement patterns include a particular muscles tonicity, a certain way to align the skeleton, how our different body parts work together, or work independently one from an other.

So, each time we’re exploring new physical shapes, we get the opportunity to renew those patterns, to develop healthier ones, to get more freedom in our body and in our mind.

Namaste, here is the new Weekly schedule...
All the classes are limited to 6 participants, so I really can adapt the practice to each one of you. My teaching is inspired by my dear teacher and Yoga master Vinay Kumar from Mysore, by my daily Yoga exploration on and off the mat, by each of my students, and by my experience as an energetic and physical Bodywork Therapist.

The early morning Prana Vashya Yoga 4 weeks program starts the first Monday of the month.

All the classes are suitable for all levels of practice and are taking place in Prana Vashya Yoga Athens, the new space for Yoga in Koukaki.

I offer a free trial class to anyone living in Athens or nearby (except for the 4 weeks program).

Let's dive into our breath with Prana Vashya Yoga practice. During this Week, step by step, you'll be introduced to the Prana Vashya Yoga first series, in a way that suits the total beginners and the more advanced practitionners as well.

Prana Vashya Yoga is a sequenced and breath focused dynamic yoga developed by my dear teacher and Yoga Master Vinay Kumar from Mysore (South India). The two Prana Vashya Yoga series provide strength, balance and flexibility for the body and the mind. Our approach helps the practitioner to recognize his own physical and psychological capacities and to develop them in a positive way. In this process the breath is the key channel.

Every evening from 19:30 to 21:00, Prana Vashya Yoga can become your daily delight.

To provide you the best Prana Vashya Yoga experience, the Introduction Weeks are limited to 6 participants, in a warm new space in Koukaki.

About Joshua Garson
In 2018, After having taught Ashtanga Vinyasa on the French Riviera and in Tel Aviv, Joshua Garson met Vinay Kumar in Mysore. This encounter has been significant. He spent four months in Mysore studying from him and he followed his two months intense teacher training. In September 2019, during his last stay in Mysore, he co-taught for one month the daily classes for local people in the Prana Vashya Yoga Shala. He lastly moved to Athens to spread here this amazing practice.
