It is to be a CONTRADICTION

If you are growing, shifting, evolving, healing. Transforming.

You are going to contradict yourself: from one day to the next, from one hour to the next…from one year to the next.

Why?

Because you are reclaiming, rebirthing, and experimenting with ALL parts of yourself:

~ The shadow and the light

~ The tender and the bold

~ The vulnerable and the powerful

~ The compassionate and the fierce

🔥 the fire AND the water 💧

This is why we call it the FULL FEMININE

Because SHE contains ALL of it.

YOU. Contain. All of it.

I rise early.
Before Clove wakes.
Sit in the garden with a cup of tea,
listening to the birds…
*brimming* with love for this world
For this life

I hear the faint cry of Clove, waking up inside the house:
« Mamaaaaa! Maaaaa ~ maaaaa!!»

« oh! when I see you first thing on a morning my heart just LEAPS from my chest! » I say

He replies
« Okay, okay, no need to be SO POETIC!! »

That’s it. I have a 7 year old

Spending the weekend in my office
🎙️ recording the Inanna Myths for my Substack post tomorrow..

☀️ and also enjoying little breaks drinking in the rays of sunlight bursting in through the windows… 🙌🏻

I’m not exaggerating when I say these timeless Myths of Inanna excite me SO Much *every time* I hear them.

But it is hearing them not reading them that they really come alive for me…

So this is why I will be sharing these myths as audios rather than written texts…

This month I’m sharing a Children’s version
of the Myth of Inanna (from one of my favourite 📕Pagan children’s books of myth, the goddess, and Earth based spirituality for parents 🌍…)

as well as a more “adult” version for the mamas…

{although lots of adults prefer the children’s versions of some of these Myth’s too - no shame!!)

These Sumerian myths of the Goddess come from the first civilisations from which we have texts.
So they are arguably the very first myths of the Goddess.
Some TWO THOUSAND YEARS older than the Bible.
They are sacred stories of the Triple Goddess that can transport us into a radical new spiritual understanding.
Of womanhood and of our relationship with this beautiful Earth 🌏

Tonight we Begin our Descent into the World Below with ancient Sumerian Goddess Inanna.

Inanna is one of - if not THE MOST - ancient Goddess.

Working with her as a guide can bring us into deep remembering of our belonging to this great Earth.
🔻Awakening us to the ancient wisdom codes embedded deep within the Earth’s core, and indeed within our own bodies.

This is the moment where we begin to GO DEEP

I can’t quite believe that we live in a world which has conditioned us to believe that this sacred conversation doesn’t exist. Or that we might be somehow imagining it.

That we’ve been taught to deny that, which seems so utterly obvious to any woman who simply lies her Belly down on the Earth. In Devotion. »

🌘 DARK MOON CIRCLE & CEREMONY ONLINE *TONIGHT*

Tonight I will lead us in a guided meditation where we’ll connect to the healing waters of Goddess Brighid and Mother Mary.

This is a place of profound emotional connection and release. Where we step away from our busy, ordinary daily reality and seek refuge in the deep waters of the deep feminine soul.

In the Cave of the Dark Moon sisterhood tonight, we will gather around the Holy Well of Brighid, where we will receive a 9 Waves Blessing to bring blessings of speech, body, joy, health, and POWER for our journey ahead…

I look forward to gathering around these sacred waters with you very soon, and weaving this beautiful Ceremonial Space together…

I was in the sauna at the Gym earlier today and these 👴 old guys were talking about Football (there’s *always* guys in the sauna taking about f***ing football….) and then I heard the conversation turn to American Politics and I said - * AS A JOKE *
“No talking about US politics in the sauna pls - I’m trying to relax!” in like a playful jokey way (because I’m *dead* funny like that)
And then this old Guy looked at me - dead in the eye - with that look of pure (unmistakable) disgust and hatred like “how dare you fu***ng OPEN. YOUR. MOUTH. Woman.” And then he uttered something passive aggressive like “well now *we’ve been told* what we’re allowed to talk about…” 🙄
It’s remarkably rare in my life now that I feel that kind of pure hatred emanate towards me.
But it felt like one of those brutal reminders.
That everyday misogyny is still very much alive and well.

And it rattled me.
It rattled me enough to feel a bit uneasy. A bit unsteady. And yeah, maybe a bit Unsafe on a more bodily level.

Depending on what you believe about past lives or whatever... I also feel like stuff like this still touches into some very deep, ancient, historic, bodily fear - that men like that have been dangerous to us. That we could be punished for s**t like this.
And that women like me shouldn’t be too vocal, or too funny, or too outspoken…OR ELSE.

I know it’s very easy for us now to live in our little quiet, woke, cosy middle class circles and rarely encounter men like these. But every now and again I’m thrust into social situations - like the gym or pub or whatever - where this everyday (subtle?) misogyny rears its ugly head. And I’m weirdly grateful for the reminder that WE STILL HAVE SO MUCH TO DO TO DISMANTLE THE FU***NG PATRIARCHY.

And I know I’ve been talking a lot about the Dark Goddess being fiercely loving.
But that Dark Goddess heart energy can also be fiercely protective and courageous. And powerfully ferocious…
Think of the fire of Kali. And Durga. The warrior goddesses…And my personal fave - the Celtic QUEEN - The Morrigan. The Goddess of the battlefield.

We need both aspects of *her* the fierce love AND the ferocious power to S L A Y when necessary….
