Staff Training
Due to staff training the surgery will be closed on Thursday 11 September 2025 from 1pm for clinical and non-clinical staff.
If you need urgent care that cannot wait until the surgery is open, please continue to ring the surgery, telephone lines will be transferred to an automated message providing contact details of covering Doctor’s team. They will only be able to deal with urgent medical problems. Alternatively, you can ring 111 if you need heath information and advice or 999 for medical emergencies.
Community pharmacists are also open and offer access into the common ailments service for free advice and medication under the common ailment scheme.

Update on Lift replacement at Abercwmboi Site

We have had an update on the lift replacement. Work is due to start on the 30 June until 1 September 2025.

Due to arrangements already in place please note that Abercwmboi Surgery will still be closed on Thursday 26 June and at 1.30pm on Friday 27 June (Maendy Surgery, Cynon Linc will be open at these times).

Please note that this is only temporary we will be back open once the lift is installed. Phone lines will not change you can still phone Abercwmboi surgery on the same number.

Repeat prescriptions - we will be placing a box in Abercwmboi Chemist. Please drop your repeat slips there and allow 5 working day to collect from the Pharmacy

Lift replacement at Abercwmboi Site - update

Start date - 23 June for 8 weeks

Please note that this is only temporary we will be back open once the lift is installed. Phone lines will not change you can still phone Abercwmboi surgery on the same number.

We have had some queries off patients to say that we are closing. This is not the case this is only temporary whilst the lift is replaced to ensure the safety of patients.

Lift replacement

Abercwmboi Surgery will be closed to the public from 23 June 2025 for approximately 8 weeks for a new lift to be installed.

All patients will need to be seen in Maendy Surgery (Cynon Linc).

We will be making arrangement for prescription request and will keep you informed.
