Poppy trains six days a week, represents Wales internationally, and embodies everything we admire: dedication, discipline, and heart.

From the squash courts of Merthyr and Maesteg to national arenas across the UK and Europe, Poppy is proving what’s possible when passion meets opportunity. And we’re thrilled to play a small part in helping her on that journey.

Horses to Healthcare: 125 Years of My Family in Aberdare

Circa 1900, my Great, Great Grandfather Fred Manning started a carrying business with horses in Aberdare.

By the 1920s, the family ran one of the first motor vehicles in the Valleys even pioneering the first pneumatic-tyred charabanc for passengers.

From there, our family branched into bus services, coaches, removal vans, and furniture removals, each generation adding its own chapter.
Fast forward to today, and the Manning entrepreneurial spirit continues under different surnames:

Rhiannon Male (my Mum. Freds Great- Granddaughter) opened R.S. Male podiatry practice in 1993.

Nikki & Heidi Manning (My second cousins. Freds Great Granddaughters) launched Manning’s Estate Agents in 2013.

And in 2025, I’m proud to expand the legacy (of my Great Great Grandfather) with Aberdare Feet (Formerly R.S.Male Podiatry) bringing health and wellness to our community.

What started with Fred’s horse-drawn carts has evolved into a 125-year family story of resilience, innovation, and service.
