Today, Tuesday 6th January we are operating a restricted service.

This is due to the adverse weather and subsequent unplanned staff absence. To allow staff who do not live locally to travel home safely, we have reduced our service availability for the rest of today.

We have therefore turned off Engage Consult.
Please only call the Practice if urgent for today: 0345 189 7070.
Engage will remain unavailable until we have assessed the weather, roads and staff availability tomorrow morning.
Please review NHS Inform for self-help advice:

🎊 Happy New Year to all of our patients 🎊

As the safety of our patients and staff is paramount, we have taken the difficult decision to operate a revised service tomorrow (Monday 5th January).
This means that all in person appointments for tomorrow have been changed to telephone appointments in the first instance, for staff to assess and re-arrange as necessary.
You can still complete Engage requests, which will open later on Monday, but please only do so tomorrow if you feel the issue cannot wait until later in the week. Each request will be assessed by a clinician and advice, appointment or prescription will be given as appropriate.

Engage Consult:
https://engage.gp/85820/services

If you can wait, Engage will be open as usual Tues-Fri 0700-1530, and our telephone lines from 0800-1700, for those who cannot complete an Engage Consult online.

For nurse appointments, all appointments from 0800-1100 are cancelled, and we will contact you to re-arrange these.

We will update this page as soon as possible, once the weather and roads have been assessed in the morning.

If you need any advice which cannot wait until we open tomorrow, please telephone NHS24 on 111, or 999 in an emergency.

Please review NHS Inform for self help advice: https://www.nhsinform.scot/

❄️ If you take a tumble on snow or ice:

β€’ Move slowly and check for pain
β€’ You might feel stiff or sore later β€” that’s normal.
β€’ If it hurts to put weight on it, rest it
β€’ Use ice (wrapped in a towel) for 10–20 minutes at a time
β€’ Take over-the-counter pain relief if needed
β€’ Gentle movement as it starts to feel better

πŸ’š Cervical Cancer Awareness Month πŸ’š

πŸ“¬ Had a cervical screening (smear test) invite letter?
Please don’t ignore it πŸ’š

Cervical screening can spot changes early β€” often before cancer develops. Even if you feel well, it’s still really important to attend.

πŸ“˜ We have easy-read booklets available in the practice, with pictures and simple information to help explain what happens and why screening matters.

πŸ’¬ Got questions or feeling unsure? Speak to your GP or practice nurse β€” we’re here to help.
