This , we’re focusing on diabetes in the workplace, where millions of people are trying to balance blood sugars, deadlines and expectations every single day.
🔹 589 million adults are living with diabetes worldwide
🔹 7 in 10 are of working age
🔹 3 in 4 report anxiety, depression or another mental health condition linked to their diabetes
🔹 4 in 5 have experienced diabetes burnout
For many employees, diabetes can become a source of stress, stigma and fear at work – leading people to hide their condition, skip breaks, or push their health to one side to “keep up”.
This year’s message is clear:
👉 Know more and do more for diabetes at work.
Supportive workplaces can make a huge difference by:
- Allowing flexibility for blood glucose checks, breaks and appointments
- Providing clear policies and reasonable adjustments for people living with diabetes
- Training managers to have confident, compassionate conversations
- Encouraging an open culture where employees don’t feel they have to hide their condition
As an occupational health provider, TAC Healthcare works with organisations to create safer, healthier workplaces, including support for employees living with long-term conditions such as diabetes, alongside wider physical and mental health.
If you’re responsible for employee wellbeing and want to strengthen how your organisation supports people living with diabetes, our team can help.
