🌞 Hot Weather & Your Medicines: 3 Simple Tips to Stay Safe 🌡️💊

With the heatwave in full swing, it’s important to know how high temperatures can affect your medicines. Here are 3 key tips from the MHRA to help you stay well:

1️⃣ Store medicines correctly – Most should be kept below 25°C and out of direct sunlight. Don’t leave them in a hot car or sunny windowsill!

2️⃣ Check for changes – If your tablets look different, have melted, or smell odd, speak to your pharmacist before using them.

3️⃣ Use your fridge wisely – Some medicines (like certain insulins or eye drops) need to be kept in the fridge. Make sure they don’t freeze!

🦻From Monday 9 June 2025, those wearing NHS hearing aids will be able to get their free replacement batteries (sizes 13, 312 and 675 only) from more sites in Aberdeen. Wearers need to bring along their battery letter.

The new locations are:

🔋All Aberdeen City libraries (check individual libraries for opening times)
🔋Danestone Community Centre, Fairview Street (Wed, 10.30am – 5pm)
Batteries can still be obtained from :

🔋Audiology Department at Woodend Hospital, HealthPoint at ARI
🔋North East Sensory Services (NESS) on 21 John Street, Aberdeen, AB25 1BT
🔋Aberdeen City Vaccination & Well-being Hub, Bon-Accord Centre
🔋Aberdeen Community Health & Care Village, 50 Frederick Street
🔋HealthPoint at Aberdeen Royal Infirmary Concourse

There is no change to the hearing aid service from the Audiology Department including postal battery and repair services.
