My type of yoga is a hybrid of styles (vinyasa krama, kundalini, hatha, ashtanga, etc.) combining pranayama techniques & bandhas to concentrate the prana (energy) in the body. It isn’t as fast or strong as power but is more dynamic than hatha or yin yoga. We all hold tension and emotions in our bodies, which can transmute into illness; my aim is to release the things we hold onto and peel away our ‘layers’ to find a purer, happier version of ourselves.

Out for my daily walk as part of my healing process. 🙌🏽Thanks to my beloved friends who have been such a great help and support to me post-op; feeling so grateful to have such wonderful people in my life. 🙏🏼

As I’m still not able to teach yoga, and Ali is away on her exotic hols, we’ve decided to give the Old Torry CC yogis a break over the Summer. We resume classes on the 26th of August.

Looking forward to seeing everyone tonight at my drop-in yoga class at Old Torry Community Centre at 6.30pm. I’ll be sharing my personal practice, which I incorporate into my daily life. I spend half my time nowadays travelling the World and living out of a suitcase in various hotels, so my yoga practice is even more important to keep balance in my life. Everyone is welcome to join this class, and we usually leave with a free organic vegetable and a smile on our faces. 🤪 Only £6. When I’m away Ali Mathers covers the classes; she’s a wonderful teacher! Come join us! ❤️

Thinking about attending a yoga class in Aberdeen? My drop-in classes at Old Torry Community Centre, suitable for all levels, is a friendly, fun & welcoming group held every Tuesday at 6.30pm. Costs £6. For the days that I’m away for work, my good friend, Ali Mathers, will be covering. Our teaching styles are different but we both teach according to who’s in the room and what we feel would benefit our students. Come see for yourself, raise your vibration, and we promise that you’ll leave with a massive smile on your face. 🌞

Incase you couldn’t read the text on the last reel, here is an important update:

As many of you are aware I have been traveling the World within a new role for some time, and have continued to focus on this career path. In line with this Full Moon (to let go and practice gratitude) I have made the difficult decision to stop running yoga teacher trainings as from March this year (when I'm due to renew my accreditation with Yoga Alliance Professionals). I will be contacting YAP to ensure that everyone who has trained with LKY is on their system. Please be assured that your accreditations will still be viable once the school is no longer a member of YAP.

If any of you have outstanding trainings to complete, or want to do any of the online courses at a discounted price of £150, then be aware that the online platform will only be available until July (if you require accreditation then the deadline to hand in exams is 1st March). As we approach this time, I’m reaching out to let you know that I’m available to answer any questions you may have, and to support you.

If any experienced yoga teachers are keen to take on the yoga school, or want to purchase the manuals/online training platform/website please reach out to discuss your ideas; I am open to suggestions, and can provide consultation during the handover if needed.

I have been teaching yoga since 2003, and will continue to do so, and have been running my Yoga School for around 10 years. I truly appreciate you all and am so grateful to have had such a wonderful group of yogis in my life. My weekly yoga class at Old Torry on a Tuesday will continue (as will my one-to-one sessions), and I will run workshops sporadically.

All Training Facebook Groups with videos, etc will remain accessible to you, and I will always be available for you to contact. I am not running away from my responsibilities and assure you that I have not taken this decision lightly.

LKY Yoga School would not have been as successful and respected without my authentic, passionate and dedicated trainees & graduates; you will always have a place in my heart. Thank you for playing a huge part in my life journey. Keep shining beautiful Souls. 🌟

Old Torry Community Centre’s weekly yoga class in Aberdeen begins again next Tuesday 14th at 6.30pm (not tomorrow as the roads are too precarious). Costs £6, drop-in. A friendly class, suitable for all levels. Looking forward to seeing my yogis again! 🎉❤️

Unfortunately all yoga classes are cancelled for the rest of the year as I tore my rotator cuff when I blacked out on a long-haul flight at the weekend. Spent all day yesterday in hospital….🫣I’ll need time over the Festive period to recover. I’m so sorry to all my students for this. 🙏🏼

To top it off I’ve came home to water coming through my ceiling and a broken boiler. The painkillers are helping…🤪

For trainees looking for exam papers marked, etc. I will have everything up to date before the end of this year. Apologies for the delay. ❤️
