A massive well done to Lewis and Angus for completing Marathon March! 👏💛

Over 31 days, these two superstars walked to school 17 times, completed 4 Inverurie Junior Parkruns, explored beaches, parks, and even the zoo! Some walks were solo adventures, and others shared with friends and family.

Their determination and energy are inspiring, and the fundraising they did will make a real difference to the children and families supported by The Archie Foundation.

Thank you, Lewis and Angus, for your amazing efforts! 🌟

Looking for a speaker for your group or event?💙

At Archie, we absolutely love getting out into the community and connecting with local groups to share our story. From how the charity began to the impact we make every day, our talks are a great way to learn more about the support we provide to babies, children, and families across the north of Scotland.

We’re always delighted to visit a wide range of groups, including Women’s Institutes, over 50s groups, community clubs, and more. Every invitation means so much to us, and we’ll always do our very best to have someone attend.

Our sessions are engaging, informative, and a great opportunity to ask questions, learn more, and see how you can even get involved✨

If you’d like to find out more or have a date to fill, please get in touch at hello@archie.org, we’d love to hear from you!

A huge thank you to Alfie and Ayden, who visited us with their mum Kelly to donate a wonderful collection of toys, arts and crafts for children at RACH 💙

The boys worked incredibly hard to make this happen, baking delicious chocolate crispies for a bake sale and running a lucky squares competition to raise money. They then used the funds to carefully choose items that will help keep children busy, creative and smiling during their time in hospital.

What an amazing effort from two very thoughtful young fundraisers! Your kindness will make such a difference to the children and families we support.

Thank you, Alfie and Ayden! You should be very proud of yourselves 🌟

Sadly, we live in a time where many children experience bereavement, whether through the loss of a parent or another close family member. This is exactly why Archie’s Child Bereavement Service exists, to support children and families through one of the most difficult times they may ever face💙

Our service offers compassionate, tailored support, including guidance for families, bereavement books, resources, and activity days that help children feel less alone in their grief.

This support is available across all areas covered by Archie, with dedicated Bereavement Workers based at our headquarters in Aberdeen, as well as in our offices across the Highlands and Tayside.

You don’t have to go through this alone. We’re here to support you and your family🤍

Yesterday we were delighted to welcome Tribe Aberdeen to the Royal Aberdeen Children’s Hospital for a very special Easter egg drop off ☀️🐣

While it was a cold morning, we were treated to some lovely sunshine as the bikes arrived, bringing with them a real sense of excitement. Lots of children and staff made their way to the windows to watch, and there were plenty of smiles as the Easter Bunny made an appearance too.

In total, around 1200 Easter eggs were donated through this fantastic community effort, with support from Men’s Shed Bucksburn. Alongside the eggs, the group also thoughtfully included activity packs, cuddly toys and games for children and babies who are unable to have chocolate, which was so appreciated.

Some of the eggs and activity packs from this donation were also shared with the Aberdeen Neonatal Unit, where families and siblings will be able to enjoy them over Easter Sunday.

It was such a fun and uplifting morning, and we would like to say a huge thank you to everyone involved for making it happen 💛

🍰🍲A huge thank you to the Reid family and Fraserburgh Baptist Church!🍲🍰

We’re so grateful to everyone involved in organising the fantastic “Soup & Sweet” fundraiser in support of Archie and the Fraserburgh Children’s Unit.

For those not familiar, a “Soup & Sweet” is a much-loved local event where the community comes together to enjoy a hearty bowl of soup followed by a delicious pudding, and this one certainly didn’t disappoint! With over 10 soups and more than 20 puddings to choose from, there truly was something for everyone✨

The day wasn’t just about having a lovely lunch, there were also homebakes, handmade cards, and Archie merchandise available, creating a wonderful atmosphere and a real sense of community spirit.

Thanks to the incredible support from everyone involved, an amazing £1,166.54 was raised!

Thank you to all who organised, donated, baked, and came along to support, it really does make such a difference. We can’t wait to see more “Soup & Sweet” events in the future!💙

A huge thank you to JBS!💜

We’re incredibly grateful to JBS for kindly allowing The Archie Foundation to use their suite at P&J Live to see a performance of Gabby's Dollhouse🐾

Five wonderful families got to experience what can only be described as an a-MEOW-zing experience! From the moment Gabby and her friends set off to fix the broken rainbow, there were smiles and so much excitement throughout 🌈

It was truly special to see the children fully immersed in the show, dancing and watching in awe. These are the kinds of experiences that create lasting memories for families.

We absolutely love being able to provide opportunities like this, and it simply wouldn’t be possible without the generosity of supporters like JBS. Thank you again for helping us make such a difference💙

🐣💙A huge thank you to the Caterers Offshore Trade Association (COTA) companies!💙🐣

We were blown away by the incredible support shown to The Archie Foundation and The Royal Aberdeen Children's Hospital during our Easter Appeal from COTA. Just look at the amazing number of eggs donated! 🍫

COTA, which represents companies supplying catering and support services to offshore rigs in the North Sea, truly went above and beyond. We were delighted to welcome representatives, including Daniel Moloney (Compass), Leanne Mitchell and Joe Patton (Aramark), Stuart Hunter (COTA Branch Chair), Graeme Neish (COTA Learning Rep), and Lynne George (Entier), alongside generous donations from RMT Union and Unite the Union🙌

A very special mention also goes to Ivy, who, at just 5 years old, created and donated the beautiful Easter activity bags to support her mum’s workplace efforts. Such a thoughtful and inspiring contribution!

Thanks to this wonderful generosity, our Easter Appeal brought so much joy to children and families in RACH over the Easter period. We are so grateful to everyone involved💙

💙A huge congratulations to the Uzowulu family!💙

Yesterday, brothers Daniel and David completed an incredible running challenge and what a journey it has been!🏃‍♂️

At the start of the year, Daniel (11) set himself a goal to fundraise for Archie. Inspired by his own experience, when his mum was able to stay at the Archie Family Centre while his brother David (16) was in hospital, he wanted to give back and help other families.

Despite not being a fan of running at first, Daniel pushed himself to take on a 10 day running challenge, and it quickly grew! With David joining him, the pair became an unstoppable duo. Together, they shared their story, promoted their fundraising page, and inspired so many people to get involved, even their school, International School Aberdeen, supported them during this journey!

Behind them, every step of the way was their incredible support network. From their mum Cynthia’s daily updates, to family and friends cheering them on, the encouragement was truly amazing 🙌

Their final day saw them complete a 5K at NHS Grampian's Royal Aberdeen Children's Hopsital, crossing the finish line surrounded by loved ones, Archie staff, and supporters. It was a fantastic moment and such a privilege to be part of their journey.

Together, they have raised an outstanding £2,170! Enough to fund 86 nights in the Archie Family Centre, helping parents stay close to their children during hospital stays.

A huge thank you to Daniel and David Uzowulu. We’ve loved watching your idea grow into something so powerful, and we are incredibly grateful for your support 💙

Our Story

What do we do?

Since 1984 we have helped hundreds of families. Many spend a few days in the unit, while other babies need specialist care for longer. However long you are there it can be a worrying time, emotionally, physically and financially. All of the money that is donated and fundraised for Friends of the Neonatal Unit is used to benefit babies and their families during their stay and beyond. We have helped provide enhanced medical equipment, paediatric training & research, and family support for the parents and carers whose babies are in the unit.
