Summer holidays are nearly over and all the kids will be returning to their favourite sporting activities. Whilst we are all craving a bit of routine, we are also about to embark on the hamster wheel of kids activities. Are you ready? But also is your child ready?

Children’s bodies often grow over the holidays when they are resting from the intensity of normal life, and they may need to gradually return to all activities. Be mindful of growing pains and overloading injuries such as Severs and Osgoodschlatters disease. Experienced sports physios can help you navigate through these challenging periods if children are struggling to return to load.

Lots of children will have growth spurts over the summer holidays as their bodies take the opportunity to grow when they are taking a step back from regular sporting activities.

Great news!! Our very popular sports massage therapist Kayleigh has now qualified and graduated from Physiotherapy at RGU as a Chartered Physiotherapist.
Congratulations Kayleigh!!
This is great news for clinic and patients as we were so impressed with Kayleigh that she starts with SPEAR full time from 18th August as a physiotherapist. Don’t worry though as she will still be doing some sports massage sessions too!! Win win for everyone. 🤩

Our fabulous patient Lewes is on top of the world! Lewes came to SPEAR for rehabilitation following an operation to remove a brain tumour. Initially Lewes could only walk a few steps with a stick and no arm function. After a lot of hard work with his SPEAR physios this inspirational young man has climbed Benachie with his brother. Everyone is very proud 🤩🤩🤩🤩

Isla is a sail trainee sailing on Tuesday from Aberdeen to Kristensand in Norway. Isla did a live interview on STV News last night. If you are in need of some inspiration then look no further! SPEAR physio James and SPEAR sports massage Liam are delighted to be supporting Dave to complete the Ultra Tour Monte Rosa (UTMR) in Sept. It is 105 miles with 38000 feet of accenting trails. Dave is doing this mammoth challenge to raise funds in memory of the legend Dennis Law and support the Denis Law Legacy Trust - Streetsport to buy new sports equipment for street sport, which empowers young people through free access to different activities.
