Why your systems matter more than willpower.

Sounds crazy, but, I decided to return to work before my little boy starts nursery 😳

On paper, it made sense.

I wanted to wait until he was one, and working for myself, I had no idea how many hours I’d actually need.

What I didn’t fully account for?

Postpartum isn’t just emotional. It's biological.

Oestrogen and progesterone fall off a cliff.

Sleep becomes optional.

Your brain is on high alert, busy keeping a tiny human alive.

Right now, work happens in nap windows - thankfully he’s a great napper these days!!!

After a social media detox when Jude was born, I’m gently re-entering public life but it’s A LOT.

Live TV interviews on CNN, conversations with editors at Vogue.

Sounds glam and it is, but there’s a cost that comes with it…

There’s a growing, unspoken pressure among women right now — to take weight loss injections, to explain why they’re not, or to justify why they are.

And for many, this isn’t about vanity. It’s about exhaustion. Years of trying. Seeing nothing work. Wanting relief.

Some feel like they’re falling behind because “everyone else seems to be on them already.”

Some feel guilt or shame even considering medication — as if needing help is a personal failure.

• stress and nervous system regulation

• psychological support
• a healthy, sustainable relationship with food

And without these foundations, long-term success becomes far harder — particularly when medication is reduced or stopped.

The Nourish Academy isn’t just about weight loss.

It’s a holistic, evidence-based approach to increasing energy, managing stress, rebuilding self-confidence, and optimising long-term health.

The Nourish Academy is now entering its 8th round, refined through years 13 of clinical experience, behavioural science, and real life results.

Rather than relying on restrictive dieting or calorie counting alone, Raeleen, our therapist and mindset expert and I combine a whole-person approach to health with behavioural science tools to help women:

Back in 2012 I obsessively tracked my macros on My Fitness Pal and killed myself in the gym in the pursuit of my dream body.

Combined with the exhausting shifts and stress within the NHS it led to binge eating and burnout.

The women I support are intelligent and successful but struggle with their weight and health.

They know what to do to lose weight but life keeps getting in the way.

Then they blame themselves because they feel they SHOULD be able to be consistent... and they wish they had more willpower or self discipline.
