The "Warm Hub" at Danestone Congregational Church open every Wednesday during term time from 2pm - 3pm for a cuppa 🫖☕, conversation and support. The group provides companionship, support, signposting and opportunities to share memories and experiences.

With the ongoing cost of living crisis they offer this group as a place for people in the community to come, get some warmth, a cuppa and meet a friendly face. There is no cost to attend, however donations welcome (in general limited to £1 per person), but no one will be turned away.

Please share for those looking for somewhere to get some warmth and meet a friendly face.

Please see their web page: https://www.sportaberdeen.co.uk/stand-up-to-falls and join them in sharing this important message.

The UK government will be carrying out a national test of the Emergency Alerts system on Sunday 7 September at 3pm ‼️📢

● Compatible mobile phones and tablets will receive an alert, make a loud siren-like sound and vibrate.

● The Emergency Alerts system is used to warn if there’s a danger to life nearby, including extreme weather.

● Regular testing ensures the system is functioning correctly, should it need to be used in a life-threatening emergency.

● The Emergency Alerts system is an important tool for reaching the public in emergency situations. However, for those who need more info or details on how to opt out visit: www.gov.uk/alerts.

● You can also learn about how to prepare for an emergency at www.gov.uk/prepare.

🎓 Heading to Uni or College? 🧑‍🎓📚

✅ Check you’ve had your vaccines:

💉 Meningitis ACWY
💉 MMR (Measles, Mumps & Rubella)
💉 HPV
💉 COVID-19 (if eligible)

👉 Living, studying & socialising with new people makes it easier for infections to spread – don’t take the risk!
