Turning Awareness into Action: Mental Health Awareness Week
Mental Health Awareness Week (11th-17th May 2026) is a national campaign that encourages people to have open conversations while also having a greater understanding of mental wellbeing. This year’s message is: “Awareness alone is not enough – it is time for action”.
Mental health affects us all, although many people still feel unsure on how to support themselves or others. This makes it crucial to move beyond awareness and take practical steps which will create real impact.
Why Action Matters
Workplaces play a vital role in supporting mental health. By creating a culture where individuals feel they are safe to speak up, they’ll be supported by colleagues while also being confident to seek help which will make a significant difference.
Simple actions, such as checking in with a colleague or encouraging open conversations are important. Although, meaningful support requires the right knowledge and skills.
Building Confidence with Mental Health First Aid
At Evolve Training, we support organisations in turning awareness into action through our Qualsafe accredited Mental Health First Aid course.
Our training equips individuals to:
• Recognise the signs of mental health challenges
• Start supportive and appropriate conversations
• Respond effectively in difficult situations
• Signpost individuals to professional support
This helps to build more supportive, resilient workplaces where people feel valued and understood.
