🥋 Mindsparx Meets Youth Fitness Expo! 🥋

What an awesome day at the Fit Future Youth Fitness Expo in Aberdeen! 💥💪

Led by .power.coaching and the event saw vendors including , , , and - all coming together with one mission: boosting the physical wellbeing of young people. 🧒🏽👦🏻👩👧🏋️‍♀️🧗‍♀️🤸‍♀️💪

Alongside the interactive displays and games, our team stepped up and smashed their kata demos as well as Sensei Colin delivering a talk on childhood obesity and the importance of staying active 🎤

We’re so proud of our crew for showing real confidence, demonstrating, chatting with vendors, networking, handing out leaflets and representing the club like stars. 🌟

Ravenscraig: We Came, We Saw, We Medalled! 🏅

The team smashed it yesterday at the Scottish National Championships in Ravenscraig with strong performances in both Kata and Kumite, big smiles, and 9 medal winners to top it off! 🥋🔥
🥇 1 Gold
🥈 3 Silver
🥉 5 Bronze

It was a long day, but our fighters stayed patient, focused and incredibly supportive of one another - proper team spirit all the way👏

Huge thanks to the parents who came along to help, cheer and keep everyone going. You’re absolute legends! 🙌

As instructors who teach kids of all ages, hearing about increasing reports of weapons being confiscated from school pupils is very concerning and can be every parent's nightmare 😔

Would your child know what to do if they ever felt unsafe?

That’s why we’re holding a Self-Protection & Awareness Seminar, teaching practical ways for young people to stay safe, confident, and aware of their surroundings.

📅 When: Wednesday 26th November 2025
🕕 Time: 6.00pm–8.30pm
📍 Where: Unit 2, 36-38 Commerce Street, Aberdeen
💷 Fee: £50 per person
👦👧 Ages: 8+

Give them the skills to protect themselves, not with fear, but with confidence and awareness. 💪

🥋 Mixing things up a little...🥋

Our Little Dragons and Little Ninjas swapped punches and kicks for life-saving skills, learning CPR and the recovery position ❤️

Teaching these skills young is so important because it helps children:
💪 Build confidence to take action in an emergency
💡 Learn responsibility and compassion for others
🧠 Stay calm and focused under pressure
🤝 Work together and communicate clearly
🌟 Feel empowered knowing they can truly help someone

Even the tiniest heroes can make a huge difference 🙌

💪✨ Confidence starts with awareness! ✨💪

Self-defence isn’t just about fighting, it’s about feeling safe, strong, and smart in everyday life. Whether you’re a child walking to school or a teenager or adult out and about, these foundational skills build confidence and keep you aware 👀

✅ 1. Awareness:
Notice what’s happening around you. Look up from your phone, make eye contact, and trust your instincts. If something feels off, it probably is.

✅ 2. Body Language:
Stand tall, shoulders back, and walk with purpose.

✅ 3. Using Your Voice:
Don’t be afraid to speak up! A firm, loud “NO!” or “BACK OFF!” can draw attention and deter someone. 🗣️

✅ 4. Safe Distance:
Keep a comfortable space between yourself and others. It gives you time to react if needed. ⛔

✅ 5. Exit Awareness:
Always know your surroundings. Where are the doors, lights, and people who can help? 🚪👮‍♀️

✅ 6. Stay Calm & Think Smart:
Confidence grows when you know what to do. Practise breathing deeply and making quick, smart decisions under pressure. 🌬️🧠

Remember, self-defence is about protection, not aggression. The goal is to stay safe, get help, and go home confidently!

🎃 What a spooktacular day! 🎃

Huge shout out to Gabby (with a wee bit of assistance from Sensei Tracey 🦄) for organising today’s Halloween Disco to raise funds for her tournament journey - you smashed it! 🤜🤛

We had fantastic costumes, delicious treats courtesy of one of our amazing parents, loads of fun games, and the coolest inflatable disco gear from 🪩

Thanks to everyone who came along to help out and for supporting Gabby. What a fang-tastic time! 🧛‍♂️🧁✨
