The Archie Foundation

The Archie Foundation Transforming experiences and outcomes for babies, children and their families.

Making the Difference’ for close to 100,000 patients every year, the ARCHIE Foundation provides all of the extras that allow an enhanced level of care for local children. We provide key staff posts such as the ARCHIE Specialist Nurse, the ARCHIE Play Leader and the ARCHIE Family Support Worker. We buy life changing medical equipment and fund specialist training to ensure the local healthcare teams can always provide the most up-to-date and high quality care. We buy toys, books and computer games, run art workshops and provide musical concerts in the hospital – often at the bedside of children who are too sick to come to our communal play areas.

🎄✨ What a festive season it’s been ✨🎄

In the whirlwind that is Christmas, we wanted to pause for a moment and simply say… thank you 💙

This December, we’ve been completely overwhelmed by the kindness and generosity shown to The Archie Foundation. From the sponsorships and special visits throughout our Advent calendar, to the moments of festive joy that filled the hospital, you helped create truly magical memories for children spending Christmas in the hospital🎅

From the Christmas tree to our Giving Trees, toy drop-off locations, and everyone who donated toys at the hospital. Your support has enabled us to reach many families. Not just those in the hospital, but also children receiving home care, and families to whom Archie could extend some kindness 🎄

A special thank you as well for the beautiful festive knitting we received. Our team loved walking around the hospital handing these out and watching children’s faces light up as they chose one to keep and treasure🧶

And to our incredible volunteers, so much of what we do simply wouldn’t be possible without you. Thank you for giving your time, energy, and kindness to support our cause. Every one of you makes a bigger difference than you’ll ever know✨

From all of us at Archie, thank you to every single person who supported Christmas at Royal Aberdeen Children’s Hospital🤍

Our team is now taking a short festive break, but we’ll be back in 2026, ready to do even more, reach even further, and continue supporting children and families when they need it most💫

🎶✨ What a truly special visit! ✨🎶

A huge thank you to Rikki from Alba Bagpipes, who has been fundraising for us throughout the year and went the extra mile by coming along to the hospital to share some festive cheer in person. Joined by a wonderfully talented Highland dancer, they filled the hospital grounds with music and smiles.

It was such a lovely, uplifting moment for our children, families and staff, a real dose of Christmas spirit that brightened the day for everyone who heard and watched. 💙🎄

Thank you for making it so memorable and for helping to bring joy to the hospital community ⭐

Supporter Sunday ⭐

A huge thank you to David Hutchinson, who took on an incredible challenge for The Archie Foundation, climbing Meikle Tap 25 times in 25 days throughout November, braving the dark, cold and wet weather along the way.

Even more special, David completed the challenge alongside his son, Craig, and together they raised over £4,000 to support babies, children and families across our region.

We were delighted to welcome David and Craig to RACH during the Christmas period, a lovely way to celebrate such a fantastic achievement.

Thank you both for your generosity and determination 💙

We had a visit last week that left us All Shook Up!

The fabulous Aberdeen Elvis Presley Fan Club gave us a call, and said they wanted to make sure no child in Royal Aberdeen Children's Hospital had a Blue Christmas. We knew it was Now Or Never, and didn't want to Return To Sender - so we said...

🎶 Thank you… thank you very much! 🎶

We just Can’t Help Falling In Love with the amazing group who came to donate lovely presents for the children in RACH. You turned what could’ve felt like a Heartbreak Hotel kind of day into one full of smiles, hope, and Burning Love.

If We Can Dream of a brighter day - it's people like you who help make it real. From all of us here at Archie - Love Us Tender hearts are overflowing with gratitude!

Thank you for being True Blue and making a real difference 💙

Meet Alfie and Ayden! These brilliant brothers have been fundraising in support of the Archie Foundation for the last few years - and this month they paid us a special visit with some lovely gifts for children in Royal Aberdeen Children's Hospital this Christmas.

Mum Kelly revealed that the boys have been making and selling "reindeer food" to raise money for these special gifts - we are so proud of them for having this great idea and doing something so kind. Thank you so much! 💙

🎄✨ From everyone at The Archie Foundation, we want to wish you a very Merry Christmas ✨🎄

From our fundraising team, to finance, management, trusts, projects, and our bereavement workers, every single person across Archie wanted to come together today to send love, thanks, and festive wishes to you all 💙

Throughout 2025, we’ve been incredibly proud to support babies, children, families, and the NHS across the North East. None of what we do would be possible without the kindness, generosity, and support of our amazing community💫

We truly hope you’ve all had a wonderful Christmas Day and that today has brought moments of joy🎅

Best wishes, Team Archie ❤️

🎄🍦On the 25th day of Christmas, Mackie's Ice Cream & Chocolate gave to Archie, festive treats for all!🍦🎄

We are so incredibly thankful for the generosity Mackie’s has shown to everyone at Royal Aberdeen Children’s Hospital, and today is no exception 💙

This Christmas Day, Mackie’s provided ice cream for all, including patients, families, and staff. And if that wasn’t enough, they also funded Archie Teddy Bears, pyjamas, and books for every child in hospital on Christmas Day ✨

Being able to provide these gifts and moments of joy is truly special.
We can’t thank Mackie’s enough for spreading Christmas magic throughout the hospital today 🎅

We hope everyone enjoyed this festive pick-me-up and had a lovely day🎁
