We are delighted to introduce Anna MacEachern and welcome her to the ELM team 🌳🎶
Anna graduated in 2025 from the MSc Music therapy course and Queen Margaret University with distinction, after completing her Bachelors with Honours at The University of Glasgow in Music.
Anna’s first instrument is voice, second is violin and she enjoys playing ukulele and a variety of percussive instruments. Within music therapy sessions Anna engages with a variety of different instruments and styles to work with clients’ interests. Anna takes a flexible approach to sessions and often finds a combination of music, art and movement is sometimes used.
Anna has had experience working within a variety of client groups and settings. She has gained experience working in a primary school with children with ADHD, Autism, and learning difficulties and since graduating has continued to work with children.
Anna’s motivation to become a music therapist stemmed from her teenage years and experience with her Granda who had a variety of types of dementia, where she would use music to connect with him. Since the age of seventeen she then decided she wanted to strive to become a music therapist. Anna was then assigned her first placement in her music therapy training in a care home working with elderly people living with dementia.
Anna aims to create an environment where individuals feel comfortable expressing themselves and connecting creatively. Anna is excited to be working with ELM and expanding her experience with new client groups and settings.
