We have posted glimpses of but shares the brand home and beating heart with call of the wild - our family home Tombane. Our call of the wild tartans started a new journey for us one that tied together, Nicholas passion for Scottish history and the weaving industry, to Hamish love of plants and mine for colour and design - all tied up with a shared love that is Scotland and all the magic that surrounds us.
We are delighted to be launching not only our call of the wild tartans but also Highland outfitters and all of our glorious accessories that have been crafted within Scotland - come and join us on Saturday the 22nd November where you can say hello to Hamish and Nick and see what has to offer.

One very happy Hamish ❤️ an experiment in August has resulted in a beautiful harvest for our Sunday dinner ❤️

In August Hamish decided to do an experiment particularly as the weather had been so warm. He seeded some broccoli, Brussels sprouts, cauliflower and cabbage to see what would happen - so here we are in November and guess what’s a part of our Sunday dinner ❤️ the magic of experimenting and Mother Earth.

Love this time of the year and getting the larder ready for the season ahead, I have been busy pickling carrots, beetroot and onions - for these pound jars I packed them full of a mixer of carrots, beetroots and onions with a sprig of tarragon and a pinch of fennel and mustard seeds. I then brought to the simmer 1200ml of apple cider vinegar 12 tablespoons of sugar and 4 of salt until the sugar and salt has dissolved then pour over the veg covering completely and sealed the 5 jars. Always make sure jars are washed sterilised before use.

Plantain has been a miracle plant this year for Hamish it has helped his Asthma and hayfever to the point he’s has not needed his inhaler or anti histamine this year, it’s been incredible watching him manage his symptoms using plantain tea 5-7 leaves morning and night and if needed during the day. We have also been using it on the nettle sting and horsefly bites and it has immediately taken down the swelling and soreness - WOW.
