I realised the other day that I’ve been an official Neal’s Yard Remedies consultant for over 8 years now! 💙

What started as a desperate menopause era search for soothing skincare to alleviate the dry, sore, reactive, burning and inflamed skin on my hands due to hormone changes has become a journey of so many more benefits and opportunities. Hormone disrupting chemicals in regular skincare products made my skin worse, prescription drugs offered no long term solution, and sadly there were few organic alternatives which were effective.

In truthfulness I joined NYR at the time to enjoy the discounted price on the products in the range as I had decided that I would ditch all my existing toiletries and go organic and natural as much as I could… and so my journey of discover began!

Fast forward 8 years and I now have a lovely healthy holistic business (as well as fully recovered skin on my hands!) which sits alongside and which aligns beautifully with my country cottage organic gardening lifestyle and my gardening themed seasonal events and workshops, as well as my participation in a thriving local eco business Handam refill station CIC

I offer a number of different themed workshops which include:-

Just goes to show that sometimes good things can come out of what was originally a less than happy life phase… menopause skin, I think I may have got the better of you! 🥰

A fabulous and versatile essential oil, Orange🍊has a variety of uses and benefits 🧡

It has uplifting, calming and potentially anti microbial properties. Excellent for reducing stress and anxiety, enhancing your mood and even improving sleep.

It can be incorporated into creams and lotions (if you are making your own) as it has wonderful antiseptic and anti-inflammatory properties and so is soothing and calming to skin conditions such as acne.

And its lovely strong scent can also deter mosquitoes! 🦟🚫… so definitely one to consider if you are making your own summer anti bug spray!☀️… what’s not to love! 🍊

I love Rosemary! 🌱It’s one of my absolute favourite herbs to grown in my garden and to cook with, but did you know it has so many other benefits as well?!

Apart from its potent antibacterial and anti fungal properties that help fight infection, Rosemary oil has a stimulating effect on the nervous system and increases circulation to the brain, which in turn helps to improve memory, concentration, and mental alertness.

If you are currently in exam season, inhaling Rosemary oil can help reduce your anxiety whilst also increasing your ability to focus and recall information. Even if you’re not sitting an exam but simply work in a stressful environment, it up can help take the edge off anxiety and overwhelm.

Likewise if you are struggling with brain fog (as in the glorious peri and menopause era years 🤪) it can help reduce the frustration that comes with this symptom, I know it certainly did for me and still does.

I use the remedies to roll “Study” rollerball as a pulse point soother when working and concentration is proving elusive… rub on, inhale deeply… and relax…

Likewise I love the “Focus” diffuser blend which is gentle but effective and is a nice discreet way of distilling the scent of Rosemary into the air without it being intrusive. Perfect if you would like to use it around studying teens without it being obvious.

I can honestly say that these are some of my favourite and most practical and beneficial products to use… there is a range of rollerballs for different situations (of course I have them all! 😂) and similarly a range of diffuser blends (again yes I have all these as well 🤭) with varying properties and benefits.
