I am really sad to announce that I won’t be returning to my Edinburgh practice at Albany Street. I have been struggling with this decision for a while, but I think it is the right one. With the enhanced hygiene measures, increased PPE overheads and reduced numbers of people I can see in clinic, driving to Edinburgh once a week no longer makes sense financially and more importantly, for the toll it takes on my health and energy. I kept working in Edinburgh for so long after moving to Aberfeldy because I loved working there and the people I worked with - patients and colleagues. I will miss it hugely. I won’t however miss being so tired when I got home on a Monday night that I could barely speak - a tiredness that lasted well into the following day. So I’m making this decision to put my money where my mouth is and follow the advice that I have given to so many of my patients about prioritising your own health and finding the right balance between life and work.
I have been able to take this decision because my Aberfeldy practice has continued to grow and be so busy. Giving up Edinburgh means it now has my full attention and allows me the time to invest further in enhancing my skills and knowledge needed for this lovely practice in Highland Perthshire.
Thank-you to all my lovely Edinburgh patients and colleagues who have made working at Albany Street such a pleasure. 😘
