This month the focus is - Weight Management and health........
Commonly, Body Mass Index, which takes into account your height and weight, is used to determine if someone is a healthy weight. For most adults, a BMI of:
18.5 to 24.9 - healthy weight
25 to 29.9 - overweight
30 to 39.9 - obesity
40 or above - severely obesity
However, BMI is a very crude measure, and is not used on its own to diagnose obesity. Other factors, such as your gender, ethnicity, body composition and age should be taken into account.
You can use the NHS BMI calculator to check yours.

Did you know that............................
Some types of carbohydrates contribute to IBS type symptoms. These carbohydrates are called FODMAPs, which stands for Fermentable, Oligo-saccharides, Di-saccharides, Mono-saccharides And Polyols.

Please note:
- The low FODMAP diet involves 4-8 weeks of FODMAP restriction, 6-10 weeks of FODMAP reintroduction using 3-day food challenges with high FODMAP foods and long-term personalisation to enable self-management and improved understanding of personal dietary triggers
- This dietary approach is complex and needs to be supported in it's approach so that unnecessary food restrictions and therefore nutrient deficits are avoided.
