Meet Francesca Fulgoni – Dispensing & Low Vision Optician

Francesca has been working at Fulgoni Opticians for 31 years, alongside her father, John Fulgoni, who founded the family-run practice over five decades ago… 1973!

With a special interest in Low Vision, Francesca regularly runs NHS-funded Low Vision Clinics here at our Abergavenny practice. These clinics offer free support, magnifiers, and lighting aids to those who are eligible—helping people make the most of their remaining vision and improve their quality of life.

Her commitment to patient care recently earned her a feature in Optometry Today, the UK’s leading journal for eye care professionals. Francesca was interviewed about her work in Low Vision, and even her loyal (and blind) dog Monty joined in!

We’re incredibly proud of Francesca and all she does for our patients and community.
