Dr McCormack will be retiring on the 26th September 2025 after working at the surgery for 34 years. He will be greatly missed by all our staff. We would like to take this opportunity to thank Dr McCormack for his time and dedication throughout his career.

There will be changes in our GP partnership due to this retirement.

Dr Honeybun and Dr Shetty will also both be partially retired and will cover Dr Shetty current patient list.

Dr Honeybun list will be transferred to Dr Daniel Osiobe, who is a full time partner at the practice.

Flu Vaccines – Book Now!
Our vaccination clinics start from 1st of October – All eligible patients can book via ringing the surgery or wait for a text booking link to book your flu jab with us!

As Monday 25th August is a Bank Holiday, Gwrych Medical Centre and Cae Glas Surgery will both be closed. For urgent matters that cannot wait until we reopen, you can contact 111 for advice and to access the GP Out of Hours service if required. If you telephone our numbers your call will be redirected to call 111.

Update we now have over 3,000 patients have nominated a pharmacy for electronic prescribing.

We are now live with electronic prescribing at Gwrych Medical Centre.

**Support for Weight Loss**

You may have seen recent media coverage regarding weight loss injections. At present, this applies *only to England*.

The medication in question is available through GPs there, but only for a limited number of individuals with multiple weight-related health conditions.

Currently, there are no plans for this to be extended to Wales. As a result, GPs in Wales are not able to prescribe this medication for weight loss.

However, we are still here to support you in your weight loss journey through a range of other options, including exercise referral schemes and lifestyle support services.

📢 Exciting News! Electronic Prescriptions Are Coming Soon.

We’re getting ready to launch Electronic Prescription Services (EPS) at Gwrych Medical Centre.

What does this mean for you?
🖥️ Your prescriptions will be sent straight to your chosen pharmacy – no more paper!
✅ No lost bits of paper
✅ No need to come into the surgery to collect your prescription

Here’s what you need to do:
👉 Next time you go to your pharmacy, ask:
“Are you live with EPS?”
If they are, you can say yes to having them as your nominated pharmacy.
📢 We would also appreciate you spreading the word to family and friends.

💊 When we go live, your prescriptions will be sent to that pharmacy automatically!
