Unbelievably, my industry is NOT regulated. Anyone can call themself a therapist and set up in business. I am fully qualified and insured in everything I offer as treatments and I also choose to be a member of a professional body just to add to that credibility.

No genuine therapist will ever be upset by you asking what their qualifications are and if they’re insured. We like to shout about what we do! If someone isn’t happy to share this information I would be concerned and personally wouldn’t be booking in with them.

I have clients that have come to me having had very negative experiences with massage treatments, sometimes being hurt by the treatment, including visible bruising and pain that doesn’t go away. This shouid not happen.

I will always offer the best treatment possible, tailored to your needs, and backed up by training, qualifications and over 25 years of experience (which makes me feel very old!).

I am more than happy to discuss any treatments with you before you book in to ensure you are happy with what I can offer.

Did you know arnica is great for muscular aches and pains as well as bruising? It’s great for self-help if you’re sore or aching but, even better than that, every* massage therapy treatment I provide is using this amazing massage balm so you get a double whammy. I will use my hands to relax and destress the muscles then the arnica will help to continue with the same. The only way to make it even better would be to add on a wonderfully soothing warm bath using arnica bath soak. Perfect!

New Year’s resolutions often involve giving something up.

How about adding something in?

Many of us would like to eat healthier after the extravagances of Christmas but a complete change of everything you eat is a huge task and is likely not to last.

Instead, add something in - each meal you have ‘add’ fruit or vegetables to your plate. Slice a banana on to your breakfast cereal, add lettuce and sliced tomato to your sandwich at lunchtime and throw in onions, mushrooms and peppers to your pasta sauce in the evening.

Small changes make big differences over time as it will become part of your meal prep to think about what you’re adding in.

If you’re trying to eat less then slightly reduce the other elements of your meals and use the fruit and veg to bulk them up. You won’t feel hungry and you’re adding in plenty of vitamins and minerals which we definitely didn’t consume with the pigs in blankets and Christmas chocolates…

How have you begun this year? Does it all feel a little overwhelming already and as if there is too much to do?

I have just begun a new module of my masters degree. Instead of worrying about how big it is, or where my knowledge and understanding will be, I’ve started slowly. I’m going through the assignment and putting together the papers and resources I will need. I’m taking it one step at a time and not focusing on how big the module is or whether I will pass.

I’m a stationery geek so new pens, notebook and a lovely candle as a Christmas present are all making it feel much nicer too.

Be kind to yourself and instead of trying to do it all, just do the next thing.

If you want to contact me and book in for a treatment or just find out more about what I do, WhatsApp is the best choice. I’ve had a few people recently trying to get in touch via my pages and for whatever reason their messages haven’t arrived which is really frustrating.

I will also begin to use WhatsApp to send out your treatment reminders the day before you’re booked in. I look forward to seeing you soon.
