Passed away peacefully on Sunday, 10th May 2026 aged 83 years – Aubrey, of Maes Gwyn, Garth, Penrhyncoch. This week is Dying Matters Awareness Week.

This annual campaign, led by Hospice UK, aims to focus on the importance of having conversations about death and dying with your loved ones.

Death affects us all, and unfortunately will come to us all eventually. The passing of a loved one will inevitably be a hard time, but the grief process can feel more manageable if you have had a previous conversation, and therefore have an understanding of what their wishes were.

Many people don’t know where to begin the discussion, but you are welcome to contact us by phone, by email or by calling into our office in Aberystwyth, and our team will be happy to answer any questions that you have.

Philip Emile

Philip, aged 74 years, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, 18th March 2026 at Bronglais Hospital, Aberystwyth, surrounded by his loving family. Beloved husband of Bethan, much loved father of Elinor and Meleri, cherished pops of Bella; and a dear uncle of Edward.

Philip was a well-respected businessman, having established an Estate Agency through which he has offered his support, guidance and advice to many people over the years. He was also devoted to charitable causes, serving as Area Chairman of Round Table in the 1990s and, more recently, as President of Aberystwyth Rotary, raising funds for numerous local charities.

A public funeral service will be held at St Padarn’s Church, Llanbadarn Fawr, Aberystwyth on Saturday, 25th April 2026 at 11:00am.

Family flowers only. Donations will be gratefully received towards the ‘Clinical Haematology Fund’ at Bronglais Hospital and will be used to purchase a ‘Vein Finder’ – something which would have greatly benefitted Philip during his time in hospital.
