Friday 20th October - update for those that want to know what's happened today. Long day and I am off to bed so not replying private messages and will catch up at some point with you all.
So - Chemo was a go go😀! In bed number 8 and a lot of banter and chat at the DTU (day treatment unit) team and other users.
I will start with a shout out to Team Churchill. You never want to be in hospital, having chemo, being poked, prodded, talking about the lows, scans, canulars, what your body can't do, the stress of if your well enough to take the poison and ride the chemo coaster again, knowing that it is your only option etc etc! But oh my days they are all SOOOOOOO lovely and caring and attentive and I just feel listened to and supported ❤️❤️❤️
It ended up being a triple day today, it started with an appointment with my Oncologist and cancer nurse. Good news with the Neutrophils not only up but right up!! Now to write that paper about the benefits of dark chocolate🍫!
Thanks to those who might of dropped a bar or two through the door!!! She has made a slight adjustment to the dose to try and make sure I recover on a fortnightly basis and we don't have more delays.
Update on the rest of the bloods - the tumour marker (a protein marker that shows highly in my bloods) is still showing positive signs of levelling off and growing rates significantly reduced. This is pleasing and although I wont have a proper growth scan for a few weeks it gives an indication that the chemo is doing something positive.
Other good news is I can half the Dex - Steroid - as my liver function tests are also making good improvements. This is also very welcomed news as although still bloody gorgeous I have developed a nice round steroid moon face 🌙 🌚

Yesterday feeling a bit sorry for myself at the biopsy and like I'd been run over, today, fresh faced, showered and ready for some snuggles with my wonderful babies (bonus inset day).
So, Friday update for my lovely supporters on how this week's gone.
You put the chemo in, the chemo out, in, out, in, out, you shake it all about. You ride the chemocoaster and then you do it again, that's what it's all about!!!! Oooooooooo!

So last Friday I was in for number 3 and the the full 100 dose at home for Saturday and Sunday. 3 days of treatment every 2 weeks and it has been flying by. Riding the wave to recover, enjoy a bit of more normal feeling and then go again.

This week was tougher! Not going to sugar coat it. The chemo itself was more tiring, maybe a bit of build up, maybe bigger dose. But I was kind to myself in recognising what my super body is doing and Pj's remained the order of the day for Saturday and not much on activity Sunday.
Other than that the side effects have been really very good so that's positive and I feel better for the reduction in steroids. My skin, my eggy old lady leg, my insomnia have all improved and this is such a relief in just feeling a bit more me.

When I said above this week was tough it was the build up to the liver biopsy. The worry if I would be fit enough to have it as it is the week when all my defence is lowest and my youngest had a sickness bug. I didn't quite know the procedure so had nerves around that part. I just wanted it to happen, get the samples needed, test them and give me what they can to suppress this bl**dy s**t cancer.

So, yesterday went as well as it could have. I was first one in so time to recover and then another scan to check no internal bleeding and then home. 2 biopsies taken and yes I do feel like I've been punched/stabbed twice in the liver and have some referred pain into my shoulder but had a comfy night so hoping to be back up and running over the weekend. Thanks to the beautiful Gaby, he was the kindest nurse looking after me during the procedure 💙

Yesterday's update as I board the chemocoaster 🎢 for round 3.
Liver function numbers improved enough to get 💯 double doses, so the chemo driver I have at home for 2 days is 💯 dose 👍🏻
Just sat finishing up and then have driver fitted etc then home to take on the next 2 days of chemo.
No other blood news or updates on that front.
I have the liver biopsy booked on for Thursday, not ideal timings in terms of where it sits in treatment but will just have a quiet week and then hope that there's more medicine we can throw at this bas%@*d cancer.
As always your cards, messages and support are a great comfort and support to us and whilst we might not always reply it really does help ❤️.
Again I will smile 😀and face this with as much positivity as I can muster. My family are my driving force and I really have no choice but to soilder on 👊🏻.
When asked how I am, or how I "really" am this is it. We have moments when we cry, we feel aggrieved, it feels unfair but mostly it is carrying on.
Last night I cried, Loz posted the last comment/picture and this just about sums it up. I will always have a sadness in me that won't disappear because I Imagine these things. But I also have opportunity. Opportunity to do things with purpose and clarity and being 100 in the moment with my family and to try and make what ever my shortened future looks like a positive memorable time..
Thank you to those who have set up pages, taken on challenges, donated, made us dinners and everything else in between.
With lots of love, Claire ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️

Important update -
To my beloved and valued clients it is with such sadness that I have to announce that I am closing down my business.
I have been diagnosed with Bowel cancer that has also spread to other parts of my body. It is important that I spend this time with my family and getting some treatment. All being well I start chemo next Friday.
I cannot put into words how proud I am of the business I set up. I always say I have the best clients and I really do. You put your trust in me to look after your bodies and we have a good laugh, chat and even tears on the way. Half the time it doesn't even feel like work but seeing friends.
I get asked so many questions about the types of people I treat, the injuries or if you have to be sporty. My answer is the same, I've treated everyone from 12-85, sporty, not sporty, but at the heart of it is managing any pain and discomfort and working to make you feel the best functioning version of you that you can be.
I have had so many messages of support already that have been a great comfort, sorry if i have not got back to you all yet.
With Love, Claire x

This is the lovely Helen. She is running the London Marathon this Sunday, do give her a cheer if your going to watch.
She has worked hard with her training plan, over coming hurdles along the way and getting work done on the couch.
If you would like to sponsor her she is raising money for Bowel Cancer after her husband was diagnosed last year.
I love all the runners stories and reasons for doing up their laces and getting out week after week to do the training ready for the big day. It brings back great waves of emotion and no doubt I will shed a tear this weekend watching everyone.
