We specialise in supporting people who have varying needs as a result of physical and long term neurological conditions including cerebral palsy, epilepsy, brain injury, motor neurone disease, multiple sclerosis, muscular dystrophy, speech impairment, spina bifida & hydrocephalus and Stroke. Our Registered Nurse teams are highly skilled and trained to deliver specialist and complex nursing care an

d have significant experience with tracheostomy, PEG care, wound management and the provision of end of life care. The full-time support we provide is flexible and designed to help build skills, inspire confidence and encourage people to live more independently. We work directly with each individual to develop a personalised support programme based on their needs, wishes and aspirations. This includes personal care, physiotherapy, health & wellbeing programmes, rehabilitation, community engagement, enablement, volunteering & activities and respite services.

John Masefield House is situated in Abingdon along the River Thames, we have wonderful gardens with a seating area that looks over the river. Here at John Masefield House we support people from a range of ages and support needs. We support 22 people who have varying physical and long term neurological conditions.

Here at John Masefield House we make every day one to look forward to for the people we support and staff with activities to appeal to all and personalised entertainment to ensure that everyone has access to things they enjoy.

What is the role?

Support Worker - £9.86 (FTE: £21736)

Using the training provided, aid the people we support through all aspect of life including mealtimes, bathing and day to day activities.
By getting to know the people we support you will be able to help write their care plans and understand when risk assessments may be needed.
Be there to assist the people we support in daily activities, social interactions, and outings either in a group setting or on a 121 basis.
Assist the people we support with their health needs as required, which may include administering medication and attending medical appointments.
Keep daily paperwork up to date to ensure we have captured everything that has happened in the day

Our name in lights!

This season we are teaming up with Sheffield United as an official sponsor!

To support in the national recruitment crisis for social care, we are trying a new initiative to increase brand awareness and support our recruitment campaign.

Our brand and logo will appear in match day programs, along the mid tier at Bramhall Lane and on the big screen for the whole season, including league and cup games.

30 hours per week – this role will include some evenings and weekends:
• Create links with local communities
• Design and organise activities for all of our residents; groups and for 121 sessions
• Get creative! What fun things can you bring into the home?
• Discover opportunities for residents to get involved in things outside the home
• Get relatives and friends involved in the activities
• Organising trips
