BUSINESS AND WEBSITE RE-DESIGN

Firstly I would like to thank all my current and past clients. The last few years have been a time-consuming, energy zapping roller coaster and Ive much appreciated those that have supported me.
With a move to Dorset (yes, moved house again!!), the completion of my physio degree and the imminent closure of my clinic in Milton (was out of my hands 😞)...my business naturally needs to do some evolving.
I will not be taking on any new clients in Oxfordshire going forward. I have spoken to most my regulars and have made a plan going forward (email me if I haven't).

My website will be undergoing a revamp and therefore online bookings will be unavailable. Please email amy@peakmovement.co.uk if you need to schedule a follow-up

What’s your adventure?
I’ve recently found the ‘joy’ of wild swimming.
My younger me would have been too scared about not being able to see what was with me in the murky British rivers, lake or sea but the (slightly) older me has decided that I only live once and the benefits definitely knock my fears into touch.
I now have an ever growing list of swim locations that I’d like take a dip at 🏊🏼‍♀️

OUTDOOR STRENGTH CLASS - aimed at runners but suitable for anyone!!!

You love to run but you don't love doing the strength exercises that you know will help you run stronger, further, faster with less niggles.

I"M BACK to normal hours after the most intense and rewarding 5 week NHS work placement for uni as a

Im going to put together some blog posts on the conditions I saw/treated....
👉 osteoarthritis (every joint you can think of!!)
👉 greater trochanteric pain syndrome
👉 subacromial shoulder pain
👉 mechanical back/neck pain
👉 tendinopathy
👉 calf strain
👉 carpel tunnel
👉 frozen shoulder.... and some rarer conditions too

The great thing was seeing how movement and pain management strategies made a huge difference to patients quality of life.

Looking forward to getting back to my massage/rehab clients, and Mondays outdoor strength class for some tyre flipping fun 😍

Due to my 1st year physio work placement, I have limited availability at The Wellness Hub Oxford in Milton in June and July for sports massage and remedial personal training.

I am looking forward to spending 5 weeks at hospitals in Somerset learning from MSK physios but it does mean that I have had to juggle my mid-week clinic hours to a few weekend days (around being a parent 🤪), should be back to normal hours week beginning 24th July 👌🏻

An enjoyable evening chatting to some of the members of Abingdon Young Farmers.
Big thanks to Mike at Didcot Osteopathic Clinic for joining us too.

Take home message:
Massage, physio, osteopathy, chiropractic…. With so many different therapies out there it can be confusing trying to work out which would be best to help you when you are in pain. In most instances, one therapy is not necessary going better than another. More importantly, it is about finding a therapist that you trust, can relate to and who understands your occupation/hobbies. Most therapists are more than happy to chat before you commit to an appointment, take advantage of this!
And remember, our end goal is to give you the tools to independently manage the injury and develop good preventive strategies - exercises, sleep, nutrition, stress resilience etc. It makes us happy when a patient no longer needs to see us (worst business model ever!!! 🤣)

This week's meeting is a talk on sports massage and physio from Amy Peak at The Wellness Hub, Millbrook House, Milton (OX14 4EL). We will be meeting at 7:15 for a 7:30 start.

August 2019 I started doing a weekly strength class for runners .... how has it been that long!! and, wow, we've been through alot together!!
💧Sideways rain on Boundary Park, Didcot
💻Fully embraced the zoom classes and stuck with it (so much harder than teaching a class in-person)

🤗Here’s my top tips for making your resolutions a long term goal (not just for January!!)
👉Go a little lighter to avoid over-training
👉Mix it up to avoid repetitive injuries
👉Prioritise recovery - sleep is a healing wonder drug
👉Do something fun to avoid boredom; a dance around the kitchen is just as beneficial as a jog
👉Ask for support from friends
👉Seek professional advice for injury/health concerns

💙This mainly affects new clients with the introduction of a 'new client - first appointment'.

🌳Progress, growth and some gentle changes are always aimed at being positive.
With my progression through a physiotherapy degree, I see necessary changes in the way I approach my appointments. 'First appointments' will help me provide a better service in the long term with a more comprehensive initial consultation.

Very proud to have had these men in my life even if for a short time.
Both survived war, with very different experiences and losses; Ron survived shrapnel wounds and the loss of his leg. Hugh experienced concentration camp, hiding with his friend in a wall cavity to escape.

They shared their memories with us despite the pain it stirred within, teaching us that war is destructive, painful and costly for everyone.
Teaching us that we have only won if we continue to learn from the mistakes of history and we remember the suffering that hierarchy and division can create.

We remember them by celebrating that we are all uniquely and wonderfully different but peacefully the same.
