In this video, our CEO Ann Mumby shares how we support our team to prevent burnout. Being a live-in carer requires immense emotional strength, and we believe you can’t pour from an empty cup.

Through regular wellbeing checks and support support, we ensure our carers never feel they are walking the path alone. When our team feels heard and supported, they can provide the "Outstanding" care our families rely on.

Last week at the Care Show, we had the privilege of meeting the inspiring Nina Parry. Nina is the force behind Nina’s Law, a campaign very close to our hearts at Mumby’s.

When a person with complex needs goes into hospital, the loss of their regular carer can be distressing and even dangerous. Nina’s Law aims to change the rules so that professional carers can continue to provide essential, familiar support alongside NHS staff during hospital stays.

The Mumby’s crew ditched the usual look for Salisbury Hospice Flowers & Flip-flops Day, and we hope we understood the assignment. Our team had everything from floral prints shirts to bright and colourful aprons.

Extra points to Melanie, whose LEGO bouquet is the only set of flowers we haven’t managed to wilt yet!

That's a wrap on the Care Show Swindon!
Isabelle and Melanie have had a truly wonderful day representing Mumby’s Live-in Care. Beyond the innovation and the industry buzz, our favorite part was the lovely discussions we had with families. It was a privilege to speak with so many people looking for the best possible care for their loved ones. We know how big a decision this is, and we loved being able to offer some guidance and support!

Isabelle and Melanie are currently having a wonderful time representing Mumby’s Live-in Care at the Care Show Swindon today, where they have the opportunity to meet the people who make our local care community so special.

We caught up with Dawid from Swindon and Wiltshire Innovative Technology Care Hub. We love their mission to upskill the sector through the Swindon & Wiltshire Innovative Technology Care Hub, using incredible tech like virtual reality to train the next generation of healthcare professionals.

We also couldn't resist a hello (and a snuggle) with Vino the pony, thanks to Laura Stewart from Happy Hooves Equine Ltd - Equine Assisted Therapy & Transport, who introduced us. Happy Hooves does amazing work bringing therapeutic animal visits directly to people’s homes and care settings, providing comfort and joy to those who need it most.

Today, January 28th, is World Lewy Body Dementia Day. While many have heard of Alzheimer’s, Lewy Body Dementia (LBD) is actually the second most common type of progressive dementia, yet it remains one of the most frequently misdiagnosed.

At Mumby’s Live-in Care, we know that an LBD diagnosis brings unique challenges. It affects the memory, impacts movement, sleep, and can cause fluctuations in alertness that can be confusing for both the individual and their family.

People living with LBD often experience "good days and bad days" that can shift by the hour. Understanding these symptoms is the first step toward providing the right environment and specialized support.

On Friday, January 30th, Mumby’s is going "Full Summer" to support the Salisbury Hospice Charity’s Flip-Flops and Flowers day! We’re inviting all our wonderful carers, clients, and office staff to ditch the winter blues and dress in your brightest florals and favorite flip-flops.

The Best Part? For every person who joins in, Mumby’s will donate £1.00 to Salisbury Hospice Charity!

Whether you’re in the office or out in the community, snap a photo of your colorful outfit and send it to us. We’ll be sharing a gallery of our "Floral Heroes" online to spread the warmth.

Note: You can still fully participate by wearing floral shirts, bright scarves, or even pinning a paper flower to your uniform! It’s all about the bright colors and the spirit of the day.

We were so moved by this quote from a VCI participant: “I’ve made friends I never thought I’d have at my age... Life would be very lonely otherwise.” At Mumby's, we see the magic that happens when seniors stay connected. That’s why our live-in carers do more than just help at home: they are companions out in the world! Our carers ensure our clients have the transport, physical support, and confidence to stay active and engaged, whether it’s attending a local VCI pop-up café or joining a community hobby group.
