Countdown to Christmas at Bridge 🏡 ❤️

Since the first day of we have been enjoying activities to help us celebrate the countdown to Christmas! 🎄

Everyday we have asked a Resident to be in charge of the Advent calendar 📆 🎄
In return they get to pick a little treat from the Christmas gift box 🎁 ✨

It’s been a really nice way of keeping everyone excited about the festive season as we head quickly towards Christmas! 🎅🏻

Weekends!!!

It’s been nice over this festive period to create a cosy space for our residents in the afternoon to enjoy activities up in our Christmassy Bar! 🥂

The perfect quieter space to enjoy group crafts and activities with the Lifestyle Team ✂️ ❄️

It’s was like Santas workshop in there the other day when everyone helped to make the sweet bags for our Christmas Market Stall! 🍭 🍬 🍫

We have enjoyed Hoy ♦️ ♠️ and name that tune 🎶

And of course a variety of Christmas drinks and cocktails!!! 🍹 🍷

Today our homes Riverly club was bursting at the seams with festivity! ✨

Our Annual Christmas Market was full …… of wonderful stallholders,
Especially to Handcrafted By Georgina for our brilliant Balloon displays! 🎈 🌟

We welcomed so many visitors, 😮
That we decided we need to ask Santa for an Extension!! 🫣😱

We were entertained by the amazing Abingdon Operatic Society - AOS🎶 👏

We sipped on warm mulled wine 🍷 & mince pies 🥧 and Santa stopped by the grotto again!!! 🎅🏻

We are so grateful to all our volunteers, 🙏 members 🌟 and community for being involved in our event 🥰

All money raised going to Sobell House 💰

Every week our “Singing for Fun” choir sessions with Helen from Abingdon Music Centre are a Highlight to our week 💖

We have been practising songs about Stars ✨ 🌟 and this week we enjoyed a brilliant morning joining the Accord to perform these songs together this week!! 🎶 👏

It was a joyful, sparkly ✨ fun filled morning singing together!

Followed by mulled wine 🍷 and mince pies 🥧
The perfect recipe for Festive Cheer!

Anyone who knows us at are well are we will find absolutely any excuse to throw a party!! 🎉

So 🎅🏻 seemed to be as good as any!

A morning with our favourite 🎻
And a full blown full swing dancing 💃 fizz filled 🥂 afternoon with the energetic and wonderful Julie Hunt - Care Home Entertainer whose interaction is purely infectious! 👏 ⭐️

🎄✨ Christmas Jumper Day ✨🎄

What a wonderfully festive day we’ve had!
I love how many people from our community joined in with this 👏 not just Our residents and team but relatives and Riverly members and Volunteers! everyone joined in for Christmas Jumper Day, and the home was filled with colour and sparkle!
Then there was not just jumpers but socks too!! 🧦 😂

🎄✨ The Festive Joy Continues…. ! ✨🎶

Our residents continue to be truly spoilt with Christmas cheer this week!

We were delighted to welcome the little ones from Thomas Reade Primary School 🏫 , who filled our home with their beautiful Christmas songs and our Residents said we’re so well behaved 👏 👏 — such a heart-warming moment for everyone. ❤️🎤

And if that wasn’t enough, we were treated to a stunning bell-ringing concert from the brilliant Bellcanto, bringing sparkle, music and smiles all around. 🔔✨with thanks to our Relative Margaret for this one 🙏🏻

Thank you to all who helped make these moments so special ✨

Our festive season is continuing to be a good one 🎄💫

Christmas Wish Wednesday… Come True! ✨

One of our lovely residents had made a very special Christmas wish — to see her adopted donkey, Monty. 🫏❤️ from Island Farm Donkey Sanctuary

Monty made a appearance next door today at Waitrose & Partners, today so we took the opportunity to surprise her and took her to see him. 🥰

The joy on her face said it all — her Christmas wish came true! 🎄✨

It truly made her day. ❤️

🎄✨ What a magical day at Little Bears 🐻 Little Bears

Our intergenerational Annual Christmas Party was filled with joy, giggles, and festive sparkle.
The children and residents enjoyed some festive fun!there was elves and even Elsa ❄️

The highlight of the day? 🎅✨ A special visit from Santa himself!
The little ones were thrilled to step into Santa’s cosy grotto, share their wishes, and receive a festive treat 🎁

The smiles on both young and old faces truly captured the spirit of Christmas. ❤️

A huge thank you to everyone who helped make today so special. Community really is the greatest gift.

Our brilliant home kitchen team have certainly produced a show stopper for the Carebase Cake Competition!

Just look at this giant table cake!! It took 4 of them to carry it!! 😮
