We were delighted to welcome the Abingdon Brownies for a special evening visit. Our residents loved chatting with the girls, sharing stories, and enjoying the wonderful company.

The visit was made even more special as we celebrated a birthday with cake πŸŽ‚ and a little party in the bar πŸ₯³ β€” complete with everyone joining in to sing Happy Birthday! 🎢

We had a truly wonderful time celebrating National Chocolate Day alongside our monthly Community Butterfly Memory CafΓ© πŸ’›
Everyone enjoyed a great word game competition, shared some fun and fascinating facts about chocolate cake, and of course… indulged in a delicious slice of our kitchens homemade chocolate cake! πŸŽ‚πŸ˜‹

Did you know?
Chocolate cake was invented by a doctor and a chocolate maker after discovering medical evidence that eating chocolate releases endorphins in the brain – making us feel happy! No wonder there were so many smiles all around 😊

What a fantastic time we had attending the Rock & Roll event supported by our friends at Dementia Friendly Abingdon πŸ‘ 🎸 ✨

We took along our best dancers, πŸ’ƒ and they absolutely loved getting on the dance floor. Lots of smiles, toe-tapping, and great music made it a brilliant day out for everyone involved.
A great time was had by all! πŸ’™

We had a braw afternoon celebrating Burns Night 🎢πŸ₯ 🏴󠁧󠁒󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿

Our celebrations included the Address and Parade of the Haggis, 🍴 followed by a tasting of traditional haggis, delicious shortbread, and of course a wee dram πŸ₯ƒ (or a glass of Irn-Bru for those who preferred πŸ˜‰) there was more wine and tea than whiskey! πŸ˜‚ we realised we are not very authentic at being Scottish!

Residents also enjoyed a fun quiz all about Robert Burns, our knowledge was some what limited! 🫣

The afternoon was of course accompanied by some much-loved Scottish music who chat created a great singalong! 🎢

A wonderful afternoon full of tradition, memories, and smiles all round ❀️

It’s Panto time!!! 🎭 🎢

Oh no it’s not…… oh yes it is πŸ˜‚

It was a splashing good day out for some of our residents from Bridge House today as we headed to some of their very own local village of to see this years brilliant pantomime by Kennington Amateur Dramatics The Little Mermaid!πŸ§œβ€β™€οΈ 🦞 🐟

There were plenty of smiles, laughter, and toe-tapping moments throughout the show.

Experiences like these mean so much to our residents, bringing joy, connection, and wonderful memories to treasure πŸ’™

We had the loveliest time today celebrating Rosemary’s birthday, 🎈
surrounded by her family, friends, and some very special fellow residents πŸ’•

We absolutely love how these ladies have all become such close friends and keep inviting each other to their birthday parties β€” πŸ₯³ πŸ˜‚ friendship at its best πŸ’–

Lunch of choice was enjoyed in our fine dining room 🍽️✨ a delicious menu of prawn cocktail 🍀, (just look at the size of Rosemarys prawn!!!) roast pork πŸ₯©, and a classic jam sponge with custard 🍰

And then… the cake! πŸŽ‚πŸ’— The most stunning pink birthday cake β€” Rosemary’s face when she saw it was an absolute picture 😍✨
