A New Year begins! This weekend saw the beginning of term for our Master of Chiropractic students in Manchester, on the programme that is designed for working professionals who want to change career. Our new year one cohort had their induction and then their first lecture from the Principal. Smiling faces as they start on their journey to becoming a chiropractor!

Champagne reception! After the ceremony the celebrations began, with representation from across the profession and education, including from the General Chiropractic Council, the Royal College of Chiropractors and the professional associations. Importantly, the staff and students of the College, together with some of Christina's long-standing patients, all of whom had been part of this journey were also able to celebrate with champagne and afternoon tea! A wonderful ending to an amazing day.

OBE Investiture! The McTimoney College of Chiropractic is pleased to announce that Professor Christina Cunliffe, Principal of the College, attended her investiture in a ceremony at Windsor Castle yesterday and received her Officer of the Order of the British Empire (OBE) from Her Royal Highness the Princess Royal, Princess Anne. This high honour was awarded in recognition of her outstanding services to healthcare education, with the last 25 years dedicated to widening access to the education of chiropractors in the UK and around the world.

Ready for clinic! A new year dawns and it's time for our latest clinic interns the start on the final leg of their chiropractic journey. The students have already spent four years getting ready for this moment when they can put into practice everything they have learnt with real patients in our community clinics in both Abingdon and Manchester. Congratulations to all, because we know it has not been easy - but you've made it!

Welcome back! To welcome our new and returning students back to College, we organised a small get-together after class on the first day of teaching so that students could meet those in other years and also meet and mingle with the teaching staff. It certainly cemented our reputation of being a friendly, student-focused College!

Hong Kong students return to College! Only yesterday they were starting on their studies, and now already they return as Year 2 ready to build on their learning so far. Before they know it they'll be halfway through!

New term starts in Hong Kong! With the typhoon season over it was fantastic to see our new year one students settling in so quickly after induction to their first lecture with the Principal. Year two and year three students start again tomorrow and so encouraging to see the College here growing year-on-year.

Beginnings are fun! What better way to kick of induction for our new year one Master of Chiropractic cohort than to have a selfie with the Principal before an introductory talk on the Science Art and Philosophy of Chiropractic! But there was also information necessary to the start of any educational programme, like how to have your say as a student, and we were pleased to also include a representative from the Spanish Association, the AEQ, Isabel Dominguez, to talk to the new intake about the profession they are training to join.

We now have students enrolled in all three preclinical training years and it is great to see the College thriving and so full of energy. And the tour around our new premises definitely created the wow factor!

McTimoney at the Madrid Triathlon! A grand day out for staff and students servicing the Triathlon through central Madrid this weekend. Not only were athletes helped and supported by chiropractic to continue and improve their sporting endeavours, but clinic interns gained an amazing experience in seeing the power of chiropractic with immediate effect! As well as helping the athletes perform at their best, the College also had a huge opportunity to raise awareness about the benefits of chiropractic and how to train to be a chiropractor.

Grand opening! Exciting times in Madrid as we opened our brand-new premises, including our new student clinic, right next door to our current premises in the heart of the University District. The space looks amazing with teaching rooms, student relaxation and study zones and of course our spanking new five room clinic serving the local community. The opening reception was incredibly well attended, by local chiropractors, dignitaries including from Alcala de Henares State University Medicine Faculty, Fundacion Jimenez Diaz Hospital, Fremap Hospital Majadahonda, Complutense State University School of Optometry and School of Nursing, Francisco de Victoria University and Autonomous University of Madrid - not mention existing students and also new students due to start with us this week. Everyone agreed that the new premises had a ‘wow’ factor!
