Beautiful lady came to the Joy Clinic today asking for help in her grieving and mental support through this difficult time for her. We have honoured both in our practice, her Earth nature and the Metal season. Grief can leave the Earth Element feeling empty and unsupported, while the Lungs (Metal) hold the sorrow of autumn.
My focus was to nourish her center, strengthen her ability to receive support, and gently open the lungs so grief can move rather than stagnate. Needles have done their magic to anchor her, soften the weight of loss. It was beautiful to observe how the quiet sense of belonging was rising with her.
Some of the points I have used:
• ST36 (Zusanli) – to ground, nourish, and restore Earth’s strength.
• SP6 (Sanyinjiao) – to harmonize yin, soothe the heart, and replenish her reserves.
• CV12 (Zhongwan) – to center and calm, easing worry and heaviness.
• LU9 (Taiyuan) – to tonify her Lung Qi, support letting go, and invite breath and inspiration. Her breath was very shallow in the beginning of the session, much deeper at the end.
• LU7 (Lieque) – to release grief, open the chest, and connect her to the larger flow of life around her
• KI27 (Shufu) – to ease the chest and help her to feel supported and safe. She was leaving the treatment room in much more ease and grounded
This treatment was a gentle bridge between Earth and Metal, helping my patient to grieve while staying nourished and held. Every body is a wise body and once guided wisely, will look for its natural strength.

‘Since we worked on the pelvis, I can sit better.” “
You didn’t work out your pelvis. You just woke up to the possibilities you have. Does this make sense to you?
You don’t work on your body.
Working on being more woke
And when you become more careful, you’ll notice the nonsense things you’re doing. Nonsense. Then you can gradually go from this “nonsense” to sense.
Sitting and you have those amazing hips.
It’s a combination of round bone and pond pelvis.
The bone fills the pelvis and can move in every direction: up, down, in, out. There are ligaments all around that connect these bones to other bones. Those shackles might be tight, they can hold. And there are muscles. These muscles are made to get flexible, to give. And they are also there to flex in moments of danger.
But many people act like they are in danger all the time.
They stretch muscles so hard that no movement is possible. When we sit, we must have full mobility. That means that all the tissues that are connected to enabling this movement must be awakened.
Until you have a focus in your tissues, you cannot move.
When you pay more attention, you’ll find out what’s possible.
So if you let me say this, working with the flesh is a spiritual practice. Regarding awakening - spiritual awakening to the last particle.
Spiritual because it’s happening all-around us everywhere.’

Overview:

Ideal for Beginners and Advanced Yogis: Helps beginners understand yoga postures while allowing more experienced practitioners to explore deeper aspects of their practice and improve alignment.

Small Group Setting: Limited participants with two yoga teachers to ensure personalized attention and alignment corrections.

Typical Workshop Agenda:
*Warm-up (15 minutes): Involves Surya Namaskar (Sun Salutation) with a focus on major muscle groups and breathwork.
*Asana Practice: 4–5 key asanas covering standing, balancing, and floor-based poses that target four main groups of yoga postures.
*One-on-One Engagement: Each participant will receive individual guidance, with photos taken to track progress, enhancing understanding of their body and yoga practice.

It is a great opportunity for newcomers to learn foundational postures while getting detailed feedback and for experienced practitioners to fine-tune their practice.

Dear Yogis,

very pleased to let you know that the 6.30 pm Thursday class is back in September.

It will be Vinyasa, and our excellent Diane will be our guide 🙌😍 Class will be held in Coexeter House. There is a decent space we will test for some time to see if and how we can expand our Yoga practice throughout the week.
