MissPlaces is a community business which was set up in the summer of 2017. We are a warm, friendly and supportive group, who meet regularly bringing a wide variety of interests, skills, talents and hobbies, to contribute to the economic growth and sustainability of MissPlaces. Members use their skills, both old and new, to make items to sell and just a few to mention are Jewellery, greetings cards
, light up bottles and seasonal gifts, but we also sell a range of products which more specialised craft items, bespoke in nature, which can be personalised for commissioning. We have some members who excel at the more traditional home making skills, like sewing, cross stitch, knitting and crocheting. This means we can offer our service to commissioned orders for items which utilizes these skills. We also have a heat press and have recently started doing personalised printing on items. MissPlaces supports each member to be the ‘best they can be’ and aims to create a healthy ethos of well-being and wellness. Our members regularly report that attending MissPlaces has improved their self-confidence and self-esteem, reduced their social isolation, increased their skills set and expanded their friendship group. We welcome all women from all backgrounds and support everyone to reach their potential; harnessing an individual’s ‘special something’ to be more creative, purposeful and inspirational. Every member has their own ‘story’ to tell; many ladies attending MissPlaces have experienced difficult life events, and could have experienced a bereavement, have low self-confidence, low self-esteem, could have anxiety, depression, other mental health issues, or are feeling isolated and lonely. A new member can expect to be welcomed and supported by the Director, who is a Counsellor by profession, who endeavours to offer a friendly listening ear and a brew, to help with meeting the other members and settling in. For an informal chat please make initial contact by sending a private message, email us to hello@missplaces.com or ring the Director on 07513 139930.
