Exciting times ahead…

Occupational therapist are the “GP’s” of therapy, that amazingly means I can help with physical, mental and social needs - pretty cool right? 😎

I have 15 years mental health experience, working in secure forensic (prison) hospitals. I have also worked for our amazing NHS offering adaptions and mobility prescriptions, this led to a self employed role with Salford council.
More recently I have specialised in complex and acute mental health. Following specialising I have dual managed two amazing 9 bed mental health rehabilitation units for both males and females.

Getting to the point (if you are still reading TIA!)

Soo starting from March 2025, I am blessed to be able to offer a small amount of 1-1 occupational therapy sessions, this can be done in my home office, your home, remote on teams - whatever works best for you. Sessions will be planned for an hour to start.

This is your hour, you want to work on your mental health - great, need some support with the weekly shop - no problem, need to vent in a safe space - I’ve got you! Physically need support - I’m here and my prescription book is ready ♿️

Hello Spring!
🌼🌸🌼

Although the temptation was great to hibernate all winter, here at Independence we have spent the winter working alongside Salford Council’s fantastic group of senior Occupational Therapists.

Helping to work through the build up of home assessments, OT’s we’re unable to safely complete during the pandemic.

We have been able to achieve our S.M.A.R.T goals and ensure every person on the list has been seen. 🙌🏼🙌🏼🙌🏼🙏🙏🙏👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼

Due to the awful circumstances of Covid-19 the people I have met over the last few months, have unfortunately had to wait a long time for the support they needed. Salford Council and the NHS have been determined to provide the support their fantastic community need.

It has been lovely to meet the people of Salford and be welcomed into their home 💚 people’s kindness even in the worst circumstances never fail to amaze me.

I have also loved working with the fantastically skilled and knowledgeable Occupational Therapists both at Salford Council and within our agency team.

I am sad that this contract is now coming to an end. Having completed my degree in Salford it will always hold a very special place in my heart!
