📖 I didn’t recognise the woman in the mirror at 40.
She looked tired.
Flat.
Softer around the middle.
But more than anything… she looked disconnected.
I wasn’t lazy.
I hadn’t given up.
I was exhausted.
There’s a photo from that time where I’d actually fallen asleep during a lecture.
Completely drained.
My energy was on the floor, and that stubborn midlife tummy wouldn’t budge no matter how many Mondays I promised I’d “start again.”
Slowly, quietly… my confidence disappeared.
I’d choose looser tops without thinking.
Zoom straight to my stomach in photos.
Sit in the car before going inside just trying to gather the energy.
And the hardest part?
The quiet belief creeping in that maybe this was just aging.
Maybe this was what 40+ felt like.
Until one day I saw a woman sharing her story online.
She described the exhaustion, the frustration, the stubborn weight.
It felt like she was describing me.
So I messaged her and said:
“Just tell me what to do.”
I expected something extreme.
Instead she said:
“First thing we’re changing is your breakfast.”
That simple change changed everything.
Within days my energy lifted.
I stopped falling asleep.
I started smiling again.
Over the following weeks I lost 10cm from my waist.
But more importantly…
I got my spark back.
It wasn’t about starving or punishing myself.
It was about finally understanding how to support my body.
And that’s why I’m sharing this.
Because life isn’t over after 40.
You’re not past your best.
You’re not stuck.
Sometimes you’re just one small change away from feeling like yourself again.
If this resonates with you and you’re feeling tired, frustrated or stuck in that cycle, just message me.
I’m always happy to share what helped me 🤍
