🔥 WHY YOUR QUADS AREN’T GROWING (AND HOW TO FIX IT)

Most people train legs…
But very few ever build legs that stand out.
Here are 3 reasons your quads aren’t growing — and what to do about it 👇🏼

1️⃣ You’re chasing numbers in the gym, rather than getting the most out of the exercise.

Heavy plates don’t mean heavy stimulus.
If you’re bouncing reps, skipping depth, and rushing the eccentric, you’re not training your quads - you’re just moving weight.
Slow it down, get the full range of motion.

Ex*****on > Load.

2️⃣ You lose composure when it gets hard

Leg training isn’t just physical - it’s mental.
Everyone looks composed on rep 1…
But when your quads start to burn, DON’T rush through the rest of the set or just quit. Take a couple of breaths and continue to rinse your quads, taking the set to failure.

3️⃣ You didn’t see any progress quickly so you just stopped

Legs aren’t built in a month.
They’re built through years of consistent ex*****on - the same movements, the same cues, the same discipline.
Legs are earnt, not given.

If you fix these 3 things, your quad progress will explode.

11 lbs down. A s**t tonne of muscle built. So much learnt in terms of nutrition, training for hypertrophy, and also the importance of fuelling properly for crossing competitions and training in general!

Kieron hasn’t skipped a beat here and the accountability has helped him massively. He’s asked insightful questions and used me like he should, and he’s reaped the rewards from it.

You can’t out-train poor fuelling.
For this comp we ensured was dialled in:
✔️ Peak week macros
✔️ Carb loading
✔️ Intra-heat fuelling
✔️ Hydration + electrolytes
✔️ Post-event recovery

The result? Kieron was ready to work, every heat. He jumped up a division for this one and got a great placing, in the top 3rd of all competitors.

8 weeks work with .gym12x, 12 lbs down, muscle built and confidence restored.

A fantastic difference achieved in such a short space of time, and Hannah also learnt a lot about nutrition and training in this time.

Her confidence has increased massively too, and the mental differences are just as important as the physical ones!

Something I never thought I’d be typing or saying out loud at the start of this season. But here we are.

Unfortunately one of my favourite machines, the T-bar row is temporarily out of action 🤕

But not to worry. Here’s 2 exercises you can do instead to directly replace it in your back day 💪

The chest supported dumbbell row and landmine row are also great exercises to hit your back effectively.

1 week until I travel to Los Angeles ahead of world championships.

When I started prep on 3rd March, or even the pre prep diet in back in October 2024, I had no idea that this year would lead to me being a European and world finalist. So ready for this 🔥

Immensely proud to have earned the right represent team GB again next weekend 🇬🇧

🥉 place here, 1 point off a second placing. 5kg lighter than the other lads on stage but held my own!

My first ever show abroad representing team GB with 🇬🇧

1 more show to go.. and then I’m really excited to get into the off season and add some more tissue to this frame.

🥉 yesterday at the European Championships 🇩🇪

1 point in it. Tough class but held my own up there against lads over 5kg heavier than me, one of them a pro bodybuilder too.

Super proud to represent team GB yesterday 🇬🇧

On to the final show of the season in 3 weeks.

An update on long term client Nat. Crazy progress with 2 years between these pics. Currently around half way through current gaining phase sitting at 90kg.

Starting pics are around 80kg!

As you can see he is still in good condition at 90kg and this is the product of nailing variables and instilling habits over a long period of time.

Safe to say this transformation is life changing mentally and physically.
