This afternoon we have welcomed a 2nd group of Health & Social Care students from Rhyddings High School.
The pupils have supported the residents in playing bingo and then used conversation prompt cards to strike up conversations with individual residents.
It was a pleasure to see such great engagement between the generations and lovely to see them enjoying shared activities which appeal to both young and elders.

We were delighted to welcome back students from Rhyddings High School this morning.
They have been very busy, making a great impact within the hour they spent with us.
Some chatted to the residents, some gave manicures , filing and painting nails, some did a brew trolley and then everyone helped residents make some Valentines canvases in art and craft.

We had a fantastic afternoon here at Pendle Brook Care Home , putting our thinking caps on!
We were joined by Margaret and Mary from Oswaldtwistle Churches Together, who started our session with a lovely Holy Communion service before we dived straight into a lively quiz afternoon.

​There were plenty of "it’s on the tip of my tongue" moments and lots of laughter as we tackled a Quiz or Two.
It’s safe to say the competitive spirit is alive and well!
​A big thank you to Margaret and Mary for bringing so much joy to our lounge today. ✨

​We loved exploring the memory box from Lancashire Libraries . Whether it was leafing through vintage comics or laughing about the old rain hoods we used to wear to protect our curls, it was a brilliant session of storytelling and connection. So many happy faces today!

We believe in encouraging our residents to keep active by offering daily chair based exercise sessions.
Its lovely to see lots of smiles and laughter during these sessions, promoting physical , emotional and mental health improvements.
