Are you storing your medication correctly?

Many medicines can lose effectiveness if they are stored in the wrong conditions. Heat, moisture, and direct sunlight can all affect how medications work. Bathrooms are one of the most common places people store medicines, but the heat and humidity from showers can actually damage certain products over time.

A few important reminders:

Store medicines in a cool, dry place
Keep medications out of reach of children
Always check expiry dates regularly
Never transfer medicines into unlabelled containers
Some medications may require refrigeration — always check the label

If you are unsure how to store your medication safely, speak to our pharmacy team for advice.

💡 Did You Know? 💊

Here are a few quick medication facts that might surprise you… 👇

🔹 You shouldn’t always take medicines with grapefruit juice
It can affect how some medications work in your body—sometimes making them too strong or less effective!

🔹 Antibiotics don’t work for colds or flu
They only treat bacterial infections, not viruses. Using them when not needed can lead to resistance.

🔹 Painkillers aren’t all the same
Different types work in different ways—what helps one type of pain might not work for another.

🔹 Your pharmacist can help you choose the right treatment
No need to guess—just ask!

🔹 Taking medication at the right time matters
Some work better with food, others on an empty stomach—always check the label or ask for advice.
