📢 Update to Walk-In Blood Clinic Times 📢
WEEK COMMENCING 16th MARCH!

Following patient feedback from our most recent Patient Survey and discussions with our Patient Participation Group, and in response to increasing demand and waiting times, we are pleased to be expanding our Walk-In Blood Clinic availability.

From week commencing Monday 16th March 2026, the Walk-In Blood Clinic will run on:

🩸 Tuesday: 9:00am – 1:00pm
🩸 Wednesday: 9:00am – 1:00pm
🩸 Thursday: 9:00am – 1:00pm

✅ Please remember:

Blood tests must be requested by a clinician first before attending. you simply cannot just attend for a blood test that has not been requested, you will be turned away.

These appointments are for bloods ONLY, the clinician will not be able to do other observations such as blood pressure. This supports in keeping the waiting time as low as possible for all patients.

Where possible, please bring your blood form with you.

As with any walk-in service, there may occasionally be a wait depending on demand. We kindly ask for your patience and understanding while our team works hard to support everyone safely.

Thank you for your continued feedback and support, it genuinely helps us improve our services for patients 💙

Important Update: Change to Our Online Consultation System
Following patient feedback, we are making a change to the online consultation system used at the practice. Many patients told us that e-Consult involved too many questions and could feel lengthy, so we have listened and acted on this feedback.
From 1 April 2026, we will no longer be using e-Consult.
Instead, we will be moving to the SystmConnect Online Form, which is quicker and simpler to complete.
What is NOT changing?
We will continue to operate a total triage online model for accessing services
All requests for advice or treatment for new or existing medical conditions should still be submitted online
Requests will continue to be reviewed by the most appropriate clinician
Why are we making this change?
The new system links directly to your medical record, making it a safer and more efficient way for us to review and respond to your requests.
How to contact us from 1 April 2026
Use the SystmConnect Online Form via our website
If you are unable to use the online form:
Call us on 01642 827697, or
Visit reception, where our team can help you complete the form
Please note:
No login is required (just like e-Consult)
Opening hours remain unchanged
Online consultations are available Monday to Friday, 8:00am – 6:30pm
This is not a change in process — only a change in system
Thank you for your continued feedback and support as we continue to improve our services.

🎉 Celebrating 30 Years of Service – Congratulations Liz! 🎉

Today we’re incredibly proud to celebrate an amazing milestone. Liz’s 30 years of dedicated service with our practice!

Liz joined us back in 1996 (originally “just for a week”!)… and she loved it so much she never left. Three decades later, she remains a truly valued and respected member of our team. 🩷

Her commitment, kindness, professionalism and loyalty have made a lasting difference to our patients, our colleagues, and our practice community. We simply wouldn’t be the same without her.

Congratulations Liz – thank you for everything you do. We truly value you and your service. 👏💐

💙 Patient Education Evening – Type 2 Diabetes Remission Programme 💙

This evening, we were proud to host a patient education session with some of our patients, focusing on the NHS Type 2 Diabetes Remission Programme.

The session provided information, support and guidance on how eligible patients can access structured help to improve their health and, in some cases, work towards remission of Type 2 diabetes through clinically-led lifestyle support.

If this is something you feel could benefit you, please don’t hesitate to get in touch with the practice for more information. Check your eligibility here - https://momentanewcastle.com/participant/t2dr-gm/

A huge thank you to Nadeem from Momenta and our fantastic clinical team who stayed on to support the education evening, and to our patients for attending and engaging so positively. 👏💙

Posters for Jess's Rule are now being rolled out to GP surgeries.

Inspired by the legacy of Jess Brady, who died tragically from cancer which could have been caught earlier, Jess's Rule is part of our commitment to support GPs to help patients get the right care sooner.
