Thank you so much for all the beautiful comments, it really means so much to me.

It's been a very tough day, I can't lie. I was sat outside BU Lounge this evening with my car full of my belongings after clearing my clinic and I sobbed like a child.
I felt a bit like a thief escaping in the night. Usually when you leave a job there are people there to wish you on your way but when you're self employed there is nobody, (choosing a day when the salon was closed probably wasn't the best move).

Anyway onwards and upwards, I'm absolutely certain that Oliver will be amazing and I really hope you all welcome and support him like you've supported me. 🙏

👣 IMPORTANT CHANGE👣

Today I have finally made the very difficult decision, due to personal reasons, to hang up my nippers and close my foot health business.

It was incredibly important to me that I don't leave my customers in the lurch. Fortunately I have spoken to another Practitioner who is very keen to take my business on and continue to provide foot care to all my lovely customers at BU Lounge in Blackrod. He will also take on the home visits too.

It's been an honour and a pleasure to provide Footcare to so many of you over the last 8 years and I will miss you all very much.

The new person taking over from me is Oliver and his number is 07763 923663.

Any appointments that were booked in with me will have to be rearranged at a later date. I'm trying to ensure everyone is aware but I'm struggling a bit.

I'm taking some extended leave to put myself, my wellbeing and my family first.❤️

**Update on my return**

I'm still not looking at returning to work just yet. Unfortunately due to the nature of my dad's illness the coroner is involved so we've still got a way ahead yet before we get closure.

I still feel extremely overwhelmed by it all so I'm not going to be returning to work for the rest of the month at least, possibly longer as there is still such a lot to sort out.

It's quite a mammoth task trying to contact everyone affected, I am trying to get round to contacting everyone but if I miss anyone I do sincerely apologise.

Diane Pickup (providing home visits only) has agreed to take any appointments she can during my extended leave of absence. Her number is 07784 760942.

I just wanted to say a massive thank you for all the lovely cards and messages I've received since my dad passed away over Christmas, it's been a huge comfort.

We have finally got a date for the funeral next week but I'm still not ready to return to work yet. I was feeling quite fragile before my dad passed away and I hadn't quite realised how much it was going to affect me so I'm taking some more time to deal with his loss. I will keep everyone posted with any updates.

I've had a few phone calls today asking for an appointment before Christmas.

I tried my best to make sure it was known that this was my last working week before Christmas. I did put a post on my FB page last week and my voicemail message also says I will be unable to take calls until 7th January.

Myself and my family are dealing with a very upsetting situation so please understand that my focus is with my family and not work over the next few weeks.

December has been a challenging month so far. Unfortunately I've had more last minute cancellations and missed appointments than I've had for a long time. This has forced me to decide to implement some changes moving forward into next year, otherwise I will be hanging up my nippers and shutting shop.

To bring myself in line with other medical professionals I'm going to be looking at setting up some new systems.

1) A confirmation and reminder system so there can be no confusion over when appointments are.

2) A cancellation policy and a potential charge for missed appointments.

3) I'm also looking into taking deposits.

Obviously all these things will have a cost and time implication so I'm also going to have to look at a price increase. When I qualified 8 years ago I was charging £32 so it's definitely time for an increase as my costs have spiralled. I've absorbed these costs over the last few years but I can no longer keep doing this.

I'm also looking at a loyalty scheme for my regular customers too.

I'm also looking at changing my hours.

I will be sorting all of this out over the Christmas break and starting in the new year
