🎅Another very festive week this week! ( the Rudolph outfit was definitely the favourite!)
More Christmas Trees up, & a couple of new lovelies have joined our Ellerbeck family, taking me to full capacity 😊
And what a productive day today!! Meeting with our Ray of Sunshine Kiera first thing to check in & bounce ideas for January!
All Admin cleared ..& another outfit ticked off 😉

What a Quacking Week this has been!! Ive gone from a Elf to a Turkey...to...Santa Paws & thrown in a Christmas Duck to the mix (&earrings & socks may I add!)

Ive brought the festivities on every visit, put up Christmas Trees..sang Christmas Songs from 'yonder year' in the showers & done a few Christmas Quizs...& on one, sat with someone to Pray.

The outfits have been a bonus, & brought many smiles & quite a few "Come in quick let me see what you've got on today !!"

Next Week...Rudolph & Snowmen make an appearance! 😄
Its never a dull day ! 😉 ❤️

🎅 ⛄️ ❄️ IT'S ALMOST THAT TIME !!!!

The Burgundy 'Uniform' goes back in the wardrobe for 31 Days of Ridiculous Jumpers & outfits throughout December!

Why...you may ask? 🤔

Over the years it has been an absoloute hit & there really is method in my madness....
For many, who suffer with Alzheimers/ Dementia/ Korsakoffs, sadly, memory spans can be very limited, ....but yet its these ones I do it for.

They may not remember from just a few minutes ago...but the first thing they call when I bounce through the door on each visit " Let me see your outfit!!"
Hence proving that this small change, triggers their memories, the details of my outfits, & for many, a reminder of the time of year, in a somewhat confusing haze of what date it is, or the time of year.
It brings smiles, (lots of laughter!) And something to look forward to every day.
That's my why right there ☝️

Great Staff in this declining Care World are hard to find... & thats why we invited our Ray of Sunshine Kiera, & her Boyfriend to be our Guests at the Gala Dinner✨ as a little Thankyou️!
An oppurtunity to be pampered, put on our posh frocks, enjoy a 3 course dinner... albeit I was the designated driver...much fun & dancing was had by all !
( As promised Ive took a TON of photos & videos to show everyone on our Visits this week!) 🤗

There is no better feeling than seeing a Doggy Mum up,ready, & fresh for a fabulous new day! ✨️..and being part of that greeting each morning by her faithful companion! 🥹 💕

When the door opens, they already know your story.

They don’t need a reminder of your name or a rundown of the routine.

They already know how you take your tea - and more importantly you know exactly how they take theirs, and where the biscuits are kept. 🍪

You know what days the bins go out.

You know their favourite jumper - the one that’s soft and cosy and makes them feel like themselves again.

You know the people they talk about, so you ask after them, by name.

That’s not luck.

That’s continuity.

That’s care that truly cares. 💛 💛

👻 What a fabulous Halloween Week ! 🎃

Valentines.....Easter.....
Halloween...Christmas - Any excuse to dress up silly!
For those that Ive had for many years that suffer with Dementia / Alzheimers they know exactly what I do on these occasions, they recognise the season & even though we may have had 3 visits already that week, the joy, and smiles each morning when I bounce in never changes ❤️

Pleased to see the dogs getting in on the Halloween Dress up to !

And as always, through the year, each visit received a little treat - Chocolate Spider Cookies this time from the wonderful Karen's Kitchen 📍 Horwich.

A special Thankyou to the Villagers of Adlington & Blackrod that never bat an eye lid on how odd I continually look on these occasions, ( just wait till christmas!!) for many knowing what my job role is, & it warms my cockles that it brings a smile to you to as we bounce round ☺️
