Am I in the minority of being soooo excited to return to work on a Monday morning after a week away 🌴?!
A VERY much needed break with my youngest in Tenerife ( left the Hubby at home with the Dogs 😉) I genuinely cant remember the last time I had a Day OR an evening off! - a week of sun,reading, relaxing & spending quality time with the youngest little darling was long over due 💙
But I'm giddy to be back on Ellerbeck soil for a 12 hour day to see everyone (ohhh Ive missed you all!!!)

AND...Thankyou Kiera for sailing the ship and keeping everything ship shape in my absence, you have no idea how much this is appreciated knowing everyone's been in safe hands 💖

From my early training years ( almost 30 years ago 😲) Lifestyle choices were considered a huge part of the Dementia cycle.

Lifestyle choices in your 30s,40s,50s 60s onwards...

Sadly I have had clients in their 40s requiring support with diagnosed Korsakoffs Syndrome which is primarily an disease on the brain, aka "Young Dementia" caused by Alcohol Consumption.

Its not always the case that Dementia hits the Elderly, or "its hereditary "

Life style choices are the largest percentage of contribute.

🎈Wishing my Coffee Shop Sidekick a VERY Happy Birthday for today!! We laugh from start to finish & have this nack of just being able to sit somewhere & people are drawn to us & end up joining our table😆
We have so many adventures, ( ohhhh the Tractor Ride beats them all!) & its an honour to celebrate with you today ( with coffee & cake of course!) at one of our favourite Coffee Shops Aliona .... let's see who joins us today!

There are many reasons loved ones lose touch with their local Community 🥺 Their Community is paramount to their Welfare, to stay connected to the outside world, & that loss of connection can deteriorate someone incredibly.
Our aim is to build that close & Trusted relationship together, with a sprinkle of reassurance,planning & Guidance along the way.
Being able to chat with a neighbour up the road, choose their own biscuits, pick up those treats for their Dog, Or browse the Magazines at leisure in their local shop can make a HUGE positive impact ☺️

Ive said this for almost 30 years... It takes someone VERY special to be a part of the Care Sector, not just to work in it... but to live & breath Passion & Dedication with a hidden drive deep in their soul to change lives of those that need Care & Support.
Believe me, I can spot this "inner sparkle" a mile away! And its rare...Very rare.

I knew when Ellerbeck began, the high standards I expected, that "inner sparkle" HAD to be there, and OK, it took quite some time! but earlier this year a Ray of Sunshine walked through the door. Before she even spoke...I saw it, - that "inner sparkle" was there 🤗

Today's post is for Kiera.

A personal thankyou, not just from me, but our Ellerbeck Families, Clients ( & all the Dogs!) For the passion, care, laughter, craziness, love,dedication & smiles you bring to us all, just by being YOU!

All good things have to come to an end...and even now after nearly 30 years In the Care Sector, it completely breaks me to say Goodbye 💔

We've laughed (alot!) & cried together, sat together each week, with our Porridge & put the world to rights! But its time for your new Chapter 🏡 Your new start in your new home.
You have the most incredible, caring & beautiful Family, and you shout that from the roof tops.. That warms me each time I see you. A proud man in your heart & in your soul.
Exciting new times are ahead! My flowers are just beautiful & the card...made me cry (alot!)
Thankyou for being a part of my Ellerbeck heart Brian, I wish you, your amazing family (& Woody 🐾) all the love & happiness you all deserve so much. Looking forward to the photos of the new abode 🏠!
