It gave me permission to make mistakes. That I didn't have to be perfect or all knowing. To realise that it was the lessons that were important.

Is your anxiety getting in the way of having a tough conversation? You've got sweaty palms, feeling queasy and now you're tongue tied and can't think what you want to say.

My tip as a therapist is get out for a walk together. It takes away so much pressure and you're in a neutral environment. Added bonus that its one you naturally feel more relaxed in.

Egyptian Healing works on many different levels. For Caroline that meant Healing the legacy of trauma which had carried down her family line. There was so much love in the room and it was beautiful to be part of that work.

Do you struggle to give yourself permission to rest? It's really difficult! There FOMO, keeping everyone happy, housework - feels like an endless list and what happens if you don't keep on top of it?

The problem is that keeping on top of it is exhausting 😴.

I'm here to tell you that its not only ok to rest, its necessary. The thing is rest doesn't have to mean spending a whole day in bed. Here are examples of rest that can be done in 30 minutes (or less but I'm setting a challenge here.)

Which one appeals to you? Do you think of these things as rest?

If I could speak to my younger self I'd tell her she wasn't weak, she was exhausted. Worn out from being so strong for so long. 😩

Too often, poor mental health is seen as a sign of weakness or something to be ashamed of. I know I felt that shame back then.
​But now, I see things differently.

My struggles weren't because I was a failure, they were because I was desperately trying to fix a πŸ’© situation. While I would take a gentler approach with myself now, I recognise I was doing the best I could with the knowledge I had at the time.

If you needed to hear this today you're not alone.

Tag a friend who you see doing the absolute best they can in a difficult situation. Let's remind them that their effort is seen. ⬇️
