Glaucoma patients are very familiar with the Visual Fields Test, sitting against a large, bulky machine, trying not to blink in case they miss a dot, anxiety spiking in case they get it wrong. OCT - Optical Coherence Tomography. The scan that everyone is asking about. OCT uses laser light to image through the layers of the retina at two points, the macula and the Optic Nerve Head.
The benefit of OCT imaging is early detection and monitoring of eye disease and pathology. Glaucoma, Macula Degeneration, Diabetic Macula Oedema, MS, Optic Neuritis, and many others can be detected earlier and monitored or referred using the OCT.

Even a fundus camera captures only about 40 degrees of your retina.

A detailed description of all our new kit can be found on the website, but in short, we have invested in Zeiss Phoropter and Digital Test Chart to provide fast and accurate refraction with the ability to quickly compare old and new prescriptions. We have the Optos Monaco Pro which gives us the OCT scan as well as a 200° view of the retina, a standard fundus camera sees about 40°.
We have a new pressure test that doesnt puff air, is painless and rapid.
We have a full visual fields test in a VR headset. Lightweight and comfortable and simple to use.
And we have a Zeiss Visuref 600, providing dry eye assessment, keratometry, and wavefront analysis of the eye. We can now correct your prescription in steps of 0.01D while a standard test jumps in 0.25D steps. 25x more precise.
