Over the weekend, some of the people living with us visited our neighbouring site as they were having an amazing Summer Fair.

Belvedere Care Home had a bouncy castle, items for sale, food/ drinks and even the emergency services visited. A couple of us were brave enough to try on the police equipment - it was very heavy!

We all enjoyed More...Socialising, listening to the live music and had a cooling ice cream to finish off the day.

To celebrate International Bear Day, we got together and painted various images of different types of bears during our More...Creativity session.

The lovely people living with us enjoyed using both paint and felt tip pens to create some very interesting and colourful pieces of art work.

Residents had a lovely animal therapy visit from some of our small animal friends. Along came Pearl the ragdoll cat which everyone loved, she was very friendly and loved scratches behind her ears, she even curled up on some of the residents beds. We were able to see a very sweet little mouse, chinchilla, small baby bird and even a gecko! One of our residents was brave enough to hold the mouse by themselves. The small animals made everyone smile and happy, we look forward to their next visit.

One of the lovely ladies living with us and Lifestyle Assisstant Shannon were lucky enough to be able to attend a fantastic concert put on by Wilmslow Round Table!

It consisted of a singer, a comedian and a band, all of which were excellent. There were delicious cakes and beverages to enjoy, as well as a raffle. All the acts were a pleasure to watch and we had a fabulous afternoon.

On Thursday, we took a few of those living with us out in the gorgeous sunshine to one of our local farms.

We all enjoyed a pack lunch of pasta salad, sandwiches and nibbles prepared by our talented chefs. To finish off and to cool down, everyone indulged in a delicious Cheshire Ice Cream Farm ice cream. With ducks wandering around our feet, we walked around the farm and saw lots of different animals. We liked the alpacas and donkeys the most, laughing at their big eyes and wonky teeth. We were so surprised to see it's amazingly colourful tail, and thought the peacock was exquisite! A kind lady that was also visiting the farm gave us some animal feed and those feeling brave hand fed one of the alpacas.

After a short bus journey, we visited Astbury Meadow Garden Centre where we looked at the beautiful flowers, plants and ornaments. One of the ladies was looking for a present for her daughter, with so much to choose from, she couldn't decide.

We've enjoyed More...Creativity this week with lots of drawing, painting and colouring in, painting hats to represent bicycle helmets in honour of the Tour De France, mixing up their own shades using the poster paints available.

We have also celebrated International Kissing Day by colouring in some detailed lip images, had a game of More...Movement ball using a balloon to work on our coordination skills, throwing to each other and catching, reaching out and up to hit or catch the unpredictable movements of the balloon.

We had a few days celebrating American/ Independence Day where they had a visit from a singer called Amazing Grace who serenaded us with some wonderful cheery songs. American celebrations didn't stop there, as everyone enjoyed a delicious American themed lunch of hot dogs and burgers.

Lifestyle Assistant Shannon, and Care Assistant Izzie took some of those living with us on a lovely trip to Blue Planet Aquarium.

We had an amazing day, enjoying a delicious lunch, followed by a walk through the underwater tunnels and looking at all the different animals. There were smiles all round and everyone had a great time.

This week we were visited by some lovely animals, Edna the Chicken was a huge hit with those living with us, along with Bean one of the skinny pigs.

The lovely Hector also visited us this week, it's so nice to see how animals bring out big smiles.
