Yin is the perfect antidote to our fast paced modern lifestyles, physically, mentally and spiritually; Yin stems from Traditional Chinese Medicine.
Floor based postures are held for several minutes often with the support of props, with a big emphasis on the breath, encouraging physical and mental release, whilst drifting towards a meditative state.
Deeper, nourishing holds work to release the bodies ‘Fascial Net’; an interwoven system of connective tissue, surrounding and supporting our internal structures deep within the body; muscles, ligaments, organs, bones and nerves.
Energetically, Yin postures stimulate acupressure points throughout the body, to begin releasing energetic blockages, presented as tightly held patterns of tension.
Your time on the mat draws to a close with an indulgent Nidra, cocooned in a blanket with eye pillows available. This guided meditation, often referred to as yogic sleep, helps to reduce stress, improve sleep and promote inner healing. The perfect complement to Yin.
Ultimately this practice meets you where you’re at and is suitable for all abilities.
