Once upon a time there was a tired old farm with crumbling outbuildings full to bursting with a mixture of junk, wood, old tractors, trailers, furniture, filing cabinets, mice, boxes, the occasional ‘oh I had forgotten all about that’ treasure.......but mostly junk.
Then along came a nagging wife with a mission to transform and rebuild the outbuildings into a calm, peaceful, holistic and creative hub for the local community.
So the stressed and as yet unconvinced husband reluctantly went along with the plan with his fantastic building buddies (who it’s fair to say were probably equally sceptical) and began to build his wife’s dream.
They began with the old nursery school which still had the original desks, chairs, toys and games. It took a long time to clear because there were lots of ‘oh I remember this and look at these and oh it still works!’ Eventually the old nursery school was clear and work could begin.
Not long after two very talented ladies came by known locally as The Lavender Tree and they fell in love with the place and could see beyond the rubble. One day Natural Practices of Wilmslow asked if there was any room and they decided to move in too.
The place began to hum, people began to talk, the phone began to ring and before long therapists, practitioners, counsellors, homeopaths, herbalists, yoga and pilates instructors were all enthusiastic about a new, exciting place to work.
The story was unfolding but had no name. One day the wife was looking up at The Old Yew Tree and it all became clear. The Farm is under the protective watch of the 400 year old Yew. And so, Yew Tree Holistics became the obvious choice as it’s all about natural healing, finding out the root cause of mind and body illness. rebirth, moving forward, the ability to keep on growing (learn from past mistakes) and forge new roots.
We have an amazing wealth of experience here at Yew Tree Holistics so if you would like to find out more please email me (the wife) at yewtreeholistics@gmail.com and I will invite you to our next monthly coffee morning where you will get the chance to talk to a therapist about a particular problem and book an appointment.
We’ve a way to go yet and more work to do but we are open for business ahead of schedule and this is just the beginning of the story. We will have a website in the Spring when things are a little calmer and a list of events, workshops and classes.
The husband is now exhausted and hardly speaks to the wife. The wife has lots of ideas and wants to discuss them with the husband but he can’t listen any more because his head is full up.
They may need a counsellor by Christmas but at least it’s not far to go, if the husband is still here that is.
