The work of Dramabygrace includes equipping others with techniques to feel confident to support children with their mental health through drama. It was my privilege to work with students from St Mary's University during their PSHE module. This is what one student said in response to a recent workshop.

Now that the new term is well underway and your school is in a routine you might be able to see that there are specific children who would benefit from having some creative space. Please contact me for further information about a course of Drama workshops now available for Primary Schools.

Dramabygrace is so much more than a course of Drama Workshops. It’s aim is to understand the mental health of the individual child and to provide a safe creative space for them to communicate. Today I start on a new course to gain a deeper understanding of the challenges faced by children and what we can do to support them. With the knowledge I develop I hope that it will make the Drama deeper and more effective.

Dramabygrace provides drama workshops to Primary Schools working alongside the mental health and wellbeing provision in the school.
With the necessary restrictions of how many visitors will be allowed in schools I don’t want this to restrict the children’s access to drama. I am now also offering a package of online/virtual Drama workshops.
If you or other members of staff are interested in any of the resources I have to offer then please contact me. You can send a message on here or email: sarah@dramabygrace.co.uk

A new drama workshop will be available from tomorrow, Tuesday 7th July. If you are joining in, please have to hand some kind of game. I am using Jenga but you can use a board game, Twister, cards, anything that you have access to. Don't worry about having all the pieces or enough players etc. Playing the game is not the focus, we are simply using it as a little hook for an improvisation.

The term 'acting up' can be defined as something negative, especially if it refers to the behaviour of a child. Not here, in fact it is essential for the next Bite Size Drama Workshop. With the help of any game you have access to, such as a board game or a piece of sporting equipment, whatever you have available, we will be exploring how drama can be a fun and effective way for children to express different feelings. The new episode will be online early next week.

Welcome to a safe space where acting up is positively encouraged :)

We may not see the impact Coronavirus has had on children for many months to come but it is clear we need to be alert and ready with support now. Here are some very accessible ways to provide that initial support shared by CAMHS Professionals. Children have a voice, let's encourage it to be expressed and let's be ready to listen.
