Access to Carters Hill, River Loddon

When fishing at Caters Hill, please ensure that:

i) You only park along Julkes Lane (as highlighted yellow on the photo below), and do not park on the drive or the grounds of the cottages for any reason: as outlined in yellow on the attached Google Maps aerial photo.

ii) You only access via the field gate, circles in yellow), on Barrets Lane as shown in the attached photo, and not via the private driveway to the cottages, shown to the right.

The field gate is on a latch and doesn’t need to be climbed over. Once you have closed the gate behind you, walk across the field keeping the hedgerow to your left and you will then reach the northwest corner of the field before crossing a small stream and through a wooded copse to another field where the River Loddon flows across the northern boundary.

Thank you for your co-operation with this.

🎣 Catfish Catch Procedure – Member Advisory 🎣

Please follow the following instruction if you catch a catfish at Tarn, Stillwater and Yateley East:

🐱 If you catch a catfish, please place it in one of the floating square retaining nets provided, and immediately contact the Head Bailiff of the water of the Chief Bailiff or Fishery Management. Let them know:

⏱️ When the fish was placed in the net
⚖️ How big it is (if you weighed it)
📅 These fish will be safely removed on Fridays and Sundays by our FAS Fish Supplier, then transferred to a pond approved by the Environment Agency for safe storage until sold on.

✅ Each net has a handy 4-way zip for easy use.

📍 Retaining Net Locations:

Match Lake:
Just left of the signboard as you cross the footbridge
In the swim known as Bum Snag

Stillwater:
Swim 14 on the Front Lake
Swim 1 on the Back Lake

Tarn Pond:
In or around Swim 5 or 6

Dairy Pond

We would like to make it very clear that after over six months of exploring every possible option, and numerous meetings and discussion, due to the restrictions being placed on us by the EA we have been left with no other choice which is acceptable to us.

Thanks for your cooperation in helping us manage fish stocks responsibly. 🎣
