Finally after week's of putting it off I planted the bulbs.
Every year im in admiration of planters with a tulip cocktail and I kept saying im going to do that.

Well procrastination really is a thing and I kept putting it off because there is no instant result. Its forward thinking and planning for a time that seems to long away.

The reality is that if I want that joy I have got to plan it and put in the work...so I did. Some of these wont come out till April so hopefully they take.

This is a bit like therapy it can really feel like your getting your hands dirty and just doing all the hard clearing out work. Sometimes you dont see anything at first its like clearing out the soil of all the things that no longer serve it. Its the hard part that no one really wants to do but is important to create space for new growth.

Then there's the stage of deciding what do you want to plant with intention and where in your life.

And then waiting to see where it blooms. Post traumatic growth doesnt just happen its a process and can bloom later on.

Also a reality check like my bulbs is that maybe not all of them will bloom but ive got enough space in my pot to put in extra and im also okay with nature's way of bringing its own beauty.

So im a big believer on practice what I preach and ive noticed in the recent months a shedding in my own life of things that do not serve so I will be putting in some more intentional work to make changes for growth. I think that starts with a new website thats more intentional and modern!

To maintain harmony you must absorb chaos, you must silence your intuition when it warns you of danger. But when reconnection begins these threads unravel and you bein to see almost with an inner vision which emotions belong to you and which do not. You distinguish between your authentic intition and the internalized voices that one controlled your perception.-

This can look like feeling disconnected from self, inner conflict, feeling confused, stressed.

Growing up in parentified childhoods can sometimes mean we absorb the choas to make things easier for ourselves. What we dont know is we abandon ourselves to be safe. That journey to finding yourself can take time and therapy can help.

Gun hill old hospital. Originally built as a military hospital on the hill to get the breeze to blow out the infections from the hospital. Florenece nightingale statue at the front who helped to build it.-this is teh really basic version.

So why am i posting this?

1. Location its right at the end of my road where i practice in Aldershot

2. Because history is so important for me as a therapist. To have knowledge of the past, different cultures and to be curious about peoples history and their ancestors history. I like to consider inherited family values past traumas, intergenerational patterns. These help me to understand a person and what makes them.

Therapy is so much more than having a chat its having perception that considers a multitude of things. Seeing an indervidual in theit own complexity and being able to make sense of it.

The monthly industry magazines... being qualified is one thing, but keeping current and up to date is another.

I recently gave up my massage and reiki practice of 10 years. However, I still keep my head in with the FHT. My wrist was the reason I started to study therapy. However, I do feel a longing to still be holistic.

Working with trauma in a somatic way is so helpful to access the body up response and work with the nervous system however wouldn't it be great to do hands on body work for trauma that is stored in a theraputic way. I used to work with this in massage, but coming at it from a counselling angle is different. There are so many rules and boundaries as a therapist. it's a very undiscovered area, however, with a very proven connection.

Let's see maybe my next cpd will take me that way.

Therapy sometimes is solution focused and brief. It can be a limited number like 6 sessions where you work towards a goal.

It can also be open-ended, which means that sometimes the initial thing you thought was the goal changes and other parts or things come in that want to be worked through.

Therapy and self healing is truely a unique journey. It can take time, and when you have a therapist, you are not doing that journey alone. For each one of my clients, I am their cheerleader there to support them through whatever experiences they have. 🫶

AUTUMN 🍂 🥮 🎑 🍁

Yesterday someone said to me we've been asleep until late 20s. A wow yes realisation came where I never used to know how I felt or see the details in the seasons. I didnt know how my body felt. I was out of conscious awareness. For me it was late 20s where suddenly everything started talking loudly where I couldn't ignore it.

Thats where some people start therapy. Sometimes its not a choice its where feelings or body sensations become so loud you can sleep any longer.

There are many times where you may wish you could go back because there is less of awareness and that feels easier however the gift of joy is having the wisdom and awareness to know yourself at all levels.

For me walking is my connection. Honouring the seasons change with leaves etc is my joy. I love a forest, more so than the sea. I didnt always know this because I didnt know myself 🌳🌲

Seriously, I did not want to do this walk today. This weather makes me want to hibernate.

But I know that it has been a busy few days a lot to hold and my nervous system needs it.

For me, it clears my head, burns off too much energy and frustration so it's get up and get out.

Part of self awareness is to learn your nervous and what works for you.
